NOVEMBER 2021 MINISTER OF DEFENCE SPECIAL ELECTION

The election, as laid out in Articles 2 and 4 of the Elections Act, consists of a single round of voting held via Instant Runoff Vote (IRV) and open to all legislators who gained their status prior to the start of the declarations period.

There are two ways of casting a vote:
  • Legislators may cast a public vote via a reply to this thread by listing some or all of the candidates in descending order of preference; that is, from most to least preferred.

  • Legislators may cast a private vote via a message to the Vote Collector account by listing some or all of the candidates in descending order of preference; that is, from most to least preferred. Votes cast in private will be released with an anonymous code attached to each, so that only the caster will know which vote corresponds to them.
The Election Commissioner will not exercise discretion to interpret the intent of votes that do not name a candidate exactly as they are listed on the official ballot. Any vote containing preferences for unrecognised candidates will have such preferences removed from the tally. Any vote only containing preferences for unrecognised candidates will be removed from the tally.

Voting begins on December 05 at 12 AM (UTC) and ends on December 08 at 12 AM (UTC) (countdown).

Please consider time zone differences when reviewing the deadline for each stage in the election. It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all legal requirements within the mandated time frames (time zone conversion).

Please note that, once cast, a ballot cannot be changed. Any attempt to change a vote will result in its invalidation.
