Resolution to Call for a Special Election
#11

What I care about is making sure that people can accept the results of the election. GR, Escade, and Unibot are clearly trying to get Wolf out of office and GR into office.

Henn you are fighting your own argument for me. the EC took matters into his own hands, he did not wait for the Court to give its verdict, he shut down the results page for the election and now he thinks he has done nothing wrong. With this its clear he is corrupt and there is the possibility that PV have been tampered with to suit who he wants to be elected in. I'm not saying he has however its a possibility.

It's also a possibility that Wolf is the true election winner, which I believe is the real possibility.

How is this true do you have proof? Why then did the EC decided to take matters into his own hands, and not wait for the Court to give its verdict and just decided that what he said goes? As I said there are possibilities he may have tampered with the PV as well.

How about we all just calm down and wait for the Court? Their decision on the Legal Question regarding when citizenship is lost would determine whether or not the vote was legitimately thrown out, solving the issue for us.

I can accept the results of an election that is held fairly and according to proper procedure. Hileville cast doubt on that when he started grabbing powers he never explicitly had, went to court to ask if he had them, then decided the courts were unnecessary and he could just give those powers to himself.

As it stands, a citizen has been deprived of their right to vote. Hileville has tried is hardest to make sure the courts can't even address whether what he did was right or wrong. We should err on the side of caution and hold a special election that is 100% free of doubt.

Hileville has pointed out that the Court may not have the authority to alter any election result, even if they rule in a way should lead to Railana's vote counting. As far as he is concerned, the actions of the EC cannot be appealed to the courts.

While it would be nice if there were no doubts, that is not the case here. There will always be suspicion and doubt. Especially these specific elections. The record number of voters and even more than that, the shear amount of private votes.

Everyone always complains about how toothless the Courts are, how ineffective they are, etc etc. Yet every time something comes up where the Courts are the logical place to turn to, everyone seems to suddenly decide the Courts shouldn't be the ones to decide. It's like designing a test so someone will fail and then using that failure as a basis for why the test-taker is a failure. How about we just let them do their job?

I am against this resolution.

Considering the significant amount of smearing and mudslinging that went into this election and who it was directed at, I too am against this resolution.

However I would be for looking more in-depth into why people voted the way they did, including who (if anyone) was ordered to vote in which way, who received telegrams instructing them who to vote for, the contents of those telegrams / messages, etc.
