Congress, with its Fujimorist majority, has denied confidence to the Cabinet, which means all its members will have to resign.
PPK will have to appoint a new Cabinet, though it can have the same members as the previous one, with the exception of the Prime Minister. If Congress chooses not to give confidence to the new Cabinet, or denies it at any point during the rest of the term, PPK will be legally allowed to dissolve Congress. He has appointed as Prime Minister his Second Vice President, Mercedes Araoz. She is also a Member of Congress, and served in the Cabinet of Former President Alan Garcia, between 2006 and 2010.
