You were unbanned hours before Asta was paying the slightest bit of attention. So it wasn't Asta who unbanned you. No one said your ban was permanent, only that you needed a step back. You were unbanned about three or four hours after you were banned, once enough distance was had between the time in question and the people involved.
This is not the first time people (who shall not be named, at least publicly) have abused their power on IRC (and no, I'm not referring to Henn's banning me from #spsf, because that was completely justified in retrospect). My opinion is that we either bring #the_south_pacific under government control or supervision, or reject all ties with it.

Actually, I got a message from Asta about the unban. The only people involved was you Raven.

Firstly I'd like to apologize to Raven, seriously, for getting on his nerves this afternoon.
I know that NS can be very infuriating, and I'm sorry for making that worse. I know that we've had our differences and I've said some mean things about you over the years. I want to make it clear that I retract unflattering statements I made about you as a person which were made more to do with how I was feeling at the time than about any truly objective criticism of your behaviours and attitudes. I repeat, I am sorry for painting you as a human being any less worthy of respect than any other citizen of the world that I've had the good fortune in my long and limited experience to meet. For those that don't know Raven, he is a phenomenally hard worker, he is extremely principled, he is passionate and speaks his mind even when he might be scared of what will happen when he does. He speaks what he feels his right and he acts on it. The world needs more people like Raven. I'm being serious because I want to show you that I forgive you for not treating me how I wanted to be treated, a long time ago, even if you are not ready to forgive me for what I did wrong. You did ban me, I did something wrong, I regret my actions, which I cannot change, and I am not simply trying to avoid punishment. I know that I'm not entitled to sympathy and I don't think I will get any. While I hope in Unibots article you do see some valid point he is making about the shortcomings of the current system of justice, where banned members don't really know why they are banned, I am not on a crusade here, I am not trying to bring down the system or drive you bonkers Raven. I hope you feel better and I hope one day I will be able to ambassador to TSP in the channel where its community resides. Thanks for reading.

Pffft, I don't feel any remorse for doing the things that got me booted from the main channel. Looking back on it with a cooler head, I do not regret any of it, and I still think that Raven's actions were out of line.
Henn's ban on me from#spsf is a different matter, of course. While I don't really like that it exists, I'm willing to accept the reasons that were given (because there were reasons given, which Raven doesn't really go with), and I would have done the same if I were him. Our main channel has degenerated. We need to do something to either bring it under government supervision or stop endorsing it as our own.

Escade don't take it personally if Raven doesn't like you he makes it clear, I know that from personal experience. Raven your actions were completely out of line and I think the IRC should be under government control to put an end to any things like this, for now and the future.

I think there should be a public regional channel - we don't need to acquire #the_south_pacific, however. We could create a new regional channel for TSP citizens and regulate it. TSP's private channels will remain private.
#thesouthpacific and #tsp are both mine, and I will allow it to be a TSP only area.
