A day in the life of #the_south_pacific

Last post on the topic. You got it from 8 to 25, Good Job. 540 or so members of the forum. Yup. I'm wrong. You came after me and the SPSF for not reporting. No one "reports" and you dropped the issue when I left. There may be actvity, but it's all locked in the cabinet chat rooms or in private subforums so it appears to me, a TSP NOTHING is happening. Great, you got 25 people counting to 1000. Whatever happened to the RMD liason? Your MoA is a original Antifa FOUNDER/MEMBER and not an eyebrow raised.

Personal views. YOu aint gong to change them. I'm done with this conversation.

What point are you trying to make here? I genuinely don't understand anymore.

You keep talking like the region is going down, when any sensible look around the forum shows that that is just not the case.

Regarding the Special Forces, I did drop the issue, but not because of some personal vendetta against you. I am consistently less active in regional government and much more focused on Regional Affairs and the International Airport because I find those areas more entertaining. I do publish reports for my own ministry, which s more than enough for me.

I do not participate in the regional server, but I am happy to talk through instant messaging or on the forum.

I am getting absolutely fed up with both sides of this argument.

There is no way I am going to go for a tsp-citizens-only IRC channel. I enjoy chatting with people from across different regions and prefer to do so on TSP 'soil', without having to join multiple chatrooms to try and find other people. If you make one, fine and dandy. If you expect me to put it up on the WFE, not going to happen.

That being said, yes the channel is mostly dead. There was once a point I wanted to try and make it more active again, but my patience starting wearing thin.

When I first joined IRC, it was fine. I managed to talk with a few people (as a person who generally doesn't speak to people, it was a definite personal plus).

And then the chatroom became negative. Many foreigners and NON-FOREIGNERS both exclaiming 'TSP sucks' or 'The Cabinet is awful' (don't ask me for logs, this was months ago).

I quit the chatroom after that. I thought to myself: Is this really how TSP's IRC acts? Is this what we want newcomers to walk into; folks we're trying to meet and get engaged into TSP's forum/activities?

When I became MoRA I jumped back on, hoping to meet new TSPers that wanted to join and help them if they had any questions. The chatroom was as much silent as it was then as it is now (barring recent events). Then the conversations came up again: The 'TSP sucks now' sentiments. Everyone is allowed to speak their minds, but if it's just being negative to be negative then there's no place for me in that chatroom.

My feelings towards the IRC channel is NOT about foreigners, it is about how negative and 'gloomy' the chatroom has become. How uninviting it is, and how I do not want any newcomer to join it (especially while this is happening). I removed the link to the WFE and it will not be put back until everyone can be civil. Not just one or two people, but everyone.

Also:
If someone has a problem about how TSP is, then do something about it. I am sick of hearing bickering about how TSP is lacking in activity. Search around, or look for ways to make it better instead of being completely negative about it all the time.

If anybody doesn't like the way TSP is right now, say what your problem is and be genuine about it, or gtfo.

I think the point QD's trying to make is:

I mightn't have been around for the 'good old days' of TSP but I've seen this all over the place online. Communities move on, and the vets just sit in their little proverbial rocking chairs reminiscing about how things used to be and tutting at the newcomers 'messing it all up'. Change happens, you can either get active again and make the changes you want to see or back off and accept things are different now. As a relative newbie, most of what I've seen in #the_south_pacific are unfamiliar people bitching about how bad TSP is these days which creates a pretty toxic atmosphere for anyone who isn't part of that group and honestly it's not surprising people want to move away from it. As Feir said, it's not exactly a great example to set for people just entering the region or a nice place for those of us who just want to have a casual chat or attend to regional matters.
Basically if you don't like how the South Pacific is these days then actively do something about it because wallowing in nostalgia and whining that things aren't how they were isn't helping anything.

I have no say in this, but I have never seen any negative arguments it sayings on TSP channels. Its welcoming, when people are on.

Hey, I have a bunch of issues. You don't need to care.

Sorry for not cutting down the quote as I'm on mobile, but why am I being constantly brought up by you? I haven't said a word on this forum thread, and have been nothing friendly to you over IRC. So why the constant mentions and shutdowns. I understand you've done quite for the SPSF, and perhaps don't like the way it's going, but if you've got a problem with it, change it. Don't just sit here and take shots at us in a place we may not check.

See the thing is both sides of the argument and those in the middle try to stop the argument but end up bitching at each other. Who really gives a damn if some people don't like the way TSP is now and others do? Feirmont I can see you're trying to help but acting like a child saying you would never have a link to a "TSP only channel" and you won't put back up the link to the IRC is not helping anyone. If people are going to be friendly towards each other then they a open gateway to be friendly towards each other.

Look if you don't like how TSP is now, I'm sorry but that's how it is. IF you do like how TSP is now then good for you! I'm going to ask that no one posts here again so we can put this behind us and move on with our life's.
