Moving from being a gameplay region to a cultural one is not a decline.

I am proud to have regionmates such as Farengeto, ProfessorHenn, Rhinotaz, Ryccia, Hammerstar, Resentine, Awe and so much others. We have huge disagreements, but I respect them for working together to make our region a much better place each day. I could not ask for better roleplayers, nor can I think of people more deserving of being called South Pacificans.

A region should not be all about politics. Is politics the only flower that should bloom? Or should our cultural side blossom as well?

All aspects of a region should blossom and grow. Not just politics, which is now experiencing a toxic stage. Culture is also important. We may not have the best army out there, nor the best politics, but we are still strong.

Strong as a friendly union. Like a family or a group of friends.

TSP is our region. It excels in its own way, and by its own rules. I cherish this community, as well as all of its members.

Absolutely agree with your feelings and right to feel that way. However, where I disagree is that YOU were the one to fight to make the region more open and now YOU are the one that everyone outside that group trying to do their own thing is wrong and everyone in that group makes decisions outside the forum (or in private areas) or discuss it in IRC.

We were NEVER a gameplay region. Geomoania and I were the SPSF for a long time, just doing our thing. It didnt fit into your world so you tried to get it there. I stepped aside, new people came in, "membership" increased and it did NOTHING. Have no idea were you ever thought gameplay had anything to do with TSP day to day life. The raider/defender debate was Uni wanting the world to be defender and Sandago expressing defender preferences but defending the right for the SPSF to be what it was.

That's it. PERIOD. There was no other politics involved. PERIOD.

That's all I need t say here. Your sandbox. Enjoy it. You, too, will eventually tire and move on and it will become something else.

P.S. 8+ people in a 4000+ member region having a good time is a good indicator of how good we've become.

QD, not a 100%, nor 50% of all TSP residents are going to be involved in the forums. That is an unaccomplishable feat for any GCR. Most of them are puppets or people who are not interested at all.

Have you seriously implied that with all our above activity, we are worse off than before?

Apparently. Huh  I pay as much attention to irc these days as I do the tabloids. That said, the bans which were lifted were mainly old bans that didn't do much with one exception being Frak. He's been rebanned, it's not a good idea to let Frak into a channel where he could start harvesting IP addresses of the users of said channel.

I'm currently being lectured by non-TSPers about my treatment on non-TSPers in what should be a TSP channel.

10 of 13 ops being non-TSPers is certainly proof of how much the TSP channel is actually TSP

Okay. I believe all of the ops, have been residents of TSP at any or one time. For the most part, until your "coup" (?), the channel had an all OP period.

The flagged ops are, Todd, myself, Glen, Severisen, Quietdad, Xoriet, Feirmont, Tsunamy, SouthernBellz (to his host), Awe, Arbiter08, Siberian and now Guy. With Asta being the channel owner (inherited from Hileville). With the exception of possibly Guy, all are current or former residents/citizens of The South Pacific. (Farengeto was an op until his "coup" (?) earlier on, Quietdad removed it following the said event above)

Who was lecturing you? I didn't see anyone? And as you found, it's not like #tspops is a closed channel or invite only.

Proxy region? What on earth? I agree that the politics can be stupid (which is NS in a nutshell).

sigh. I have no idea what is going on here. I'm not aware of any great plan to influence TSP via the irc channel, I'm content puttering about regions that'll have me doing my own dastardly deeds, or like I done the other night, facilitating introductions between up and coming diplomats and feederite officials on request of said diplomat's mentor. There's obviously stuff going on where I can't see it, but to suggest that people only seek to use TSP as a pawn in a game of chess is absolutely insane.

8 people in the 1st 3, the last three being inactive for months. Yup. We're better off.

These are people consistently active in the Hall of Spam, in Bantam Harbour and in the Civil and Political Organisation Centre. Hileville has been heavily recruiting for the Foreign Service and distributed a Foreign Update. Regional Affairs has an active private forum and is currently developing several projects, including the ongoing Spirit of Adventure Festival. Siberian is currently leading the Special Forces in a mission to support the delegacy transition in Osiris.

What is this inactivity you talk about?

Even in the middle of the night for Europe and the Americas there were around 10 TSP users online on IRC.
