Cabinet Executive Order

I say we simply remove that Section, as it does contradict the Charter.
It should be no issue just removing it, unless anyone thinks we need to vote on the revised draft?

I'm not aware of any legal basis to remove sections of regional law without an Assembly vote, outside of a judicial ruling.

So that brings the question, do we wait to have a court or hold a vote.
Or could we do an "if there are no objections the Chair will remove section 4.1 of the proposed election act amendment,".
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

What would be the legal basis for such?

No, the right thing to do is to write an official bill that would repeal that section, move it to a vote, and pass it.
