[OOC] ICPA
#1

So I thought an OOC thread on the International Centrist Party Alliance may be good. So let's talk about the definition of centrist. Centrist is a party that on their own nation's political spectrum would be in the middle. However, the Alliance may choose to define what makes someone a centrist later. For example the OCP is in the center of the FSoO's political spectrum despite the fact that that spectrum is shifted a bit to the right.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

The SPG is near the center too. A bit more libertarian than absolutely center, but not quite much.
Maybe because they're spirituals. Ideas from the far-right or far-left of the political spectrum wouldn't fit to them.

Though the Federalist Republicans are considered to center-of-right major party counter to the Liberal Democrats in Resentine, in the grand scheme they do consider themselves the Centrist Party of Resentine(mainly because there are radical right wing movements they've been trying to distance from) and on a global scale they would be politically centrist.

Massa e Sereva Are principally a nationalist party and so their policies focus more on Serevan autonomy and independence than the usual left-right issues. They see themselves as being caught in the squeeze between the two main Erinoran parties, however, and often seek to moderate the effect of legislation from both sides in Sereva.

The Shiminto Party is a moderately nationalist party whose policies are centered on the growth and prosperity of the Frost Empire, and are not bound as left or right in the political spectrum. Due to the major political clout of the Committee to Restore the Greater Frost Empire, disillusionment of the ineffective Royalist Party, and inability to replicate Assembly Chair Shizuka Oda's successful Federal Monarchist party, the Shiminto Party had little choice but to join the Imperial Democratic Alliance, a loose knit alliance of political parties hailing from various parts of the political spectrum. Many members of the Imperial Democratic Alliance hail from more extreme ends of the political spectrum leading to the Shiminto party to become the conscience of the alliance.

There are no political parties in the Peocracy, even if there was, it is not a formal governmental party, it is merely an organization that has no right to bring the name of the country in and out of the event. Meaning, no political party is allowed to represent the government in a formal alliance or somewhat, if they wish to join the ICPA, they do not carry the name of Huawan, The Peocracy and her majesty The Peony.

Therefore, the only political party, and the most fundamental, is the Peonic Royal Council. Who is quoted to be "Too extreme to be a centrist, and too centrist to be anything else." They are the only political organization recognized by the state of Huawan and given permission to represent the country, the chair of the council is Sima Yi, the leader of the council. By rank, he is the same with Lord Zheng He (Though Zheng He is a bit elevated to to him being knighted) and a bit lower than High Diplomat Diao Chan. He still has to respond to The Peony however, and The Peony has a veto on the council.

The Peonic Royal Council acts as the House of Lords, while the People State Council, led by The Peony herself (No veto, only as moderator), acts as the house of commons.

The Karnetvorian Democratic Party is fairly similar to the US party of the same name. It is liberal on social issues (healthcare, immigration, the environment), but not so on economic issues. It currently serves as a check on the left-wing coalition currently in power (the "Socialist Coalition", composed of the Social-Democratic Party and the People's Party), on one hand, and the right-wing Conservative Party on the other. It is (reluctantly) allied with the latter for the time being, but this alliance will be tested on this year's presidential elections.

@Hammerstar: I don't think that counts as a political party...

So @"Qvait" do you want us to require that every party in the ICPA advocate for a free market?
Edit: Because I know the OCP is going to advocate that centrist be defined on a national level.

The smartass in me says, "No, I don't want the requirement, but Zoey does."

For real now: we're at the table, let's negotiate on the issues. Compromise.
