Legislator Activity Requirements
#21

I'm not saying I want him recalled. I just want him to do the job that the Charter says he has to do, even if there were debates about a revision to it. We'd hold the cabinet to those same standards, and Chair is no different.

I think it's reasonable to ask the Chair to do his job, even if he doesn't like it and plans to change it. He may have a bill, which will likely pass, but until that happens the law remains the same, and as Rebel said, we have to hold our officials accountable to the objective standard of what the law says.

Feel free to figure it out yourself and forward me your results. I've already said I don't understand how the requirement works. If you do, then help out. All the information you need is available.

I'm not the Chair of the Assembly; it's not my job to figure out how to conduct activity checks. If you need clarification on what the ruling involves, I'm sure @Farengeto would be happy to oblige.

Let's also note this is from Glen's CoA campaign:
Quote:Keep quality records. The Charter requires that the Chair maintain a public log of all amendments and votes. I plan on updating these records and introducing standardized formats for logging them in the future.
We elected Glen expecting him to do these things. It has been a month and I have seen no such public log.
Edit: I do note it sounds hypocritical of me to be getting on Glen about this. But, I do still believe it is necessary to hold officials accountable. That's the only reason I am fussing about this.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

The only reason people have an issue with it now, and didn't for most of Omega's tenure, is ... because Glen brought it up. "Out of sight, out of mind", and now the very person that brought it into sight for improvement is now the one being shat upon. I don't think that's fair to Glen.

We haven't had an actual legislator audit in many months. We can wait another 10 days to do it with an easier system.

Laws are laws though. We have to enforce them no matter what they say. Again, I recognize it sounds hypocritical of me to say that but we do need better.
Don't get me wrong, outside of this one thing Glen is doing a terrific job as Chair.

This seems like a massive threadjack anyway tbh. This thread is for discussion of Glen's legislation, not his job performance. A separate thread could be started for that if someone feels the inclination.

First, I'm not against Glens proposal.

Actually, that's not true. It was brought up on Discord and Glen responded before he posted this amendment.
