Dude a wedding? You have to tell...

*sits down cross legged and waits to hear more about this joyous celebration*

I don't see myself ever getting married again in this lifetime, but I do so love to hear about others joy in the celebration. One of the reasons I want to become a Priestess is that I will be ordained at the end of the training and I will hopefully get to be part of the celebration Smile

So many things I would love to chime in on down in the Assembly, but alas it is not really meant to be this time around I suppose.

Tomorrow I have to go to work, which means that I won't be around for a little over a week, but rest assured that I shall return. Those that like me will be happy, those that don't shall have a good cry, and I will still be laughing at the end of the week when I get to log back in and type out another fun filled report to one and all of ya'll.

I do hope that my citizenship gets approved and when I get back I can join in all the fun that looks like it is going to be happening with the Conference or whatever it is called.

Well I am heading back to Netflix to watch a bit more of American Horror Story: Coven, although it really makes me mad to think that they have Witches all wrong, but then how many people actually believe a show like this?

Although I have had the fun moment of talking to someone that said something funny to me about the Temple and what happens there on Samhain/Halloween. Maybe I will remember to put that in one of these post to share the laugh someday.

Warning ahead of time:

LR is back, but for how long is anyone's guess...we all know how that woman loves to CTE, loose Citizenship then come back to reapply once again, how many times has she done that? 20? 30? 5? who knows? now let me ask: anyone care?

Yes people this past week has been a fantastical, magically enhanced ride through the realms of pain, despair and general mayhem known as my life in general. Not really all that bad, but it sounded funny in my mind.

Anyway I had to take off for the wonderful shores of Havasu, AZ, where we worked the Balloon Fest. It was a lot of fun this season, but also a lot of the pain in the tush kind of time as well. I won't go into to great detail but lets just say that working from 6am to 10pm with an inexperienced crew was not the worst part of the week, it was the upper management and their hissy fits that really gets to one.

After work was great, the first night, after that it was get to bed, get some sleep, try not to get sick, get up and start the day again, opps got sick, dang it why?...anyway, I learned once again just how out of shape one gets in the off season. Pain is a friend that I would so love to loose touch with.

Happily this season was only one cranky customer, I can live with that. They say that the first show of the new year tends to tell you how the rest of the season is going to be; I hope, I pray, I will beg any powers that be, and I will even make a few of them of them up if need be; please do not allow this one to be true. I don't think I can handle upper management going all funny like for no dang reason.

So how was everyone's past week? Smile

Also, I'm so intrigued by Lady Rebel's discussion of the a 30 member military...are there any records for that?

So yes I am so doing this, right here, right now. This question was asked and I think it certainly deserves a response.

Back in the day, when the winged monkey's were still flying around, the dust was still going with the rebuilding of the Region and we were still working our way though Delegates like they were a piece of candy in a candy dish on All Hallows Eve. There came to be a list, kept by those that were known as the first Security Council of The South Pacific. The Nations on that list were there to help safeguard the Region. At the time that I was Delegate and basically unknown to anyone but one person on the Council, I had no clue about this list.

The Nations on that list were the ones that were to be contacted if anything was to go wonky with the Delegacy. They had friends of friends that would move in a help reclaim TSP if need be, there were only 30 Nations on that list. When I first became Delegate of TSP, it wasn't with total trust, I understood that I was being watched. Heck I was a Captain in the ACC (back in the day they were the raiders of NS), my nation was young (when I held the Delegacy my nation was at 500 million) and I flew in here because of a message on the RMB of The West Pacific (my region of origin). So my question to you would be, would you trust someone with those three things against them already?

But long story short, when I walked away from the ACC (because I would not follow orders given to me) I got a lot of people that contacted me through TG and here on these boards (the first TSP boards that is) saying that if ever I needed them to contact them. So the list went from the hands of only the Security Council to being in the hands of the Delegate of TSP.

At one point in time, when it came to intelligence work in NS, or we needed to help out a friend in need, TSP was where people came to first. It was not easy doing all of that, but we did it. Also keep in mind that back in those days the GP was a lot different than it is today.

Did any of my rambling make sense? if not then feel free to ask questions. I won't pretend to have all the answers but I will certainly try to make it entertaining to read the response Smile

Let me see if I've got this right:
You were delegate, and there was this elite security force that sort of took orders from themselves that had about 30 members?

Yes. Gameplay back in those days was a lot different than it is today, heck we never knew if we were going to wake up with the same delegate in office as when we went to bed with. If I remember right we went through about five delegates in the span of one week before we finally got the dust settled down.

LadyRebels,

You certainly are entertaining Smile

Those times in NS sound chaotic and a bit scary but also the idea that people came to TSP for help, that's pretty awesome. It must have sucked not to be trusted as Delegate, I kind of hated that whole part when I was delegate.

And I love that song too (I'm friends with a monster...). This is my current favorite though (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA8AfQaUnXM).

You almost made me blush Escade Smile I do try to be entertaining, it is good to know that sometimes I succeed Happywide

Honestly it was the around the clock work of the Security Council/Cabinet that was totally awesome. I did my job by making sure that I greeted new nations, introduced them to the off site forum and tried to get them involved here or in NS. The Cabinet was and has always been the backbone of the region. The Delegate is the person at the top of the page, the first one that people should have contact with (at least that was my thought) but when it came down to the nitty gritty work, that was the Cabinet all the way. In all honesty though, if you can't somewhat trust the one that is Delegate then it all goes to heck in a hand basket, I think the crash course for NS, at that time, was when the NPO came into being. It proved the very thing that others didn't want to see. If the Delegate is a power hungry type of person then it would be hard to remove them from the Delegacy, now a days that looks even harder than it was back then...and I say ouch.

The hotseat known as Delegate, and especially of a feeder region, puts you in a spotlight that most people can't handle. Sadly enough it is also one of those things that you come to expect, the never having full trust of everyone, but then if you did then where would the fun in the game be? Smile

Oh man I shall be back but I just got a wonderful idea for a sig....*runs off to change a few things up then down and turn it inside out for the fun of it*...

EDIT: because I can and because it goes totally against the grain for me to post another post so close to the last one...yes I understand it is my thread, but shut up already I do things my way unless I get told different by someone that matters.

So anyway on with a fun type of post, and every hopeful that someone pipes up and says something. Good, Bad or Ugly can always apply here within these halls.

So the past couple of days has been fun, but then they always are when you are riding a bus in Las Vegas. One of my daughters did a really good thing that made me so proud of her.

We separated for the day at about 11am. She went to the Strip and was walking around, she looked down and noticed a velvet box and a wallet while walking near the MGM Grand. She picked them up and thought, "I will feel so bad if I don't at least try to find this person", so she opened the wallet and looked at the ID. She was walking along a few blocks later when she saw some men looking around frantically for something. Oh she did look in the box and noticed a ring that looked, "like you could have gotten it out of one of those vending machines", is how she describe it to me.

Anyway she looked in the wallet at the ID again and walked up to the one gentleman and asked him if he lost something, then she handed him the box and his wallet. Well needless to say him, his friends, and later on his family and his fiancee's family were happy to meet her. She was not dressed to attend an engagement party at Cesar's Palace, but she went along with them anyway. She said she had a lot of fun, and she didn't get home until about 12am.

No they did not offer her an "award", but then she was not looking for that type of thing, there was about 5,000 dollars in the man's wallet. The ring was worth quite a bit of money, 22,000 was mentioned to her, but again she was not looking to gain anything from this except the happiness it brought her to know that a man didn't loose something that was important to him.

We have also heard the "how do you know they weren't going to hurt you?" you thing from people as well. As my daughter told them, "if anything felt off or did not seem right I would have left with no problem, after all I was on the crowded Strip and only had to yell to get help, besides that do you think my mother raised someone stupid?"

I do have to say that I am so proud of my daughter, and I am happy to note that my raising her to have a heart is something that truly did happen.

Anyway, has anyone a similar story to share? Keep in mind that the smallest kindness is sometimes has the biggest rewards. Smile

I have gotten to watch Guardians of the Galaxy and I honestly have to say I loved it. Sometimes you watch movies that make you wonder why they were even made (the Quite Ones) then you watch movies that you can't seem to finish in one sitting (300: Rise of an Empire) and then you watch those that really make the movie experience worth it all (Big Hero 6, Guardians of the Galaxy, Maleficent (sp?), Boondock Saints, Zombieland and so forth). Then there comes the funny questions that sometimes flow through my mind after watching them, What character would I be more closely related to? I don't mean to run online and take the most current "test" or quiz to see what that has to say, I mean: Jeezs who knows me better than me (or close family) so I should have this answer down pat...then it is thinking about why I would fit better into the role of said character.

Has anyone ever done that? Do you think it is fun?

Anyone want to go through a list of movies and what character they feel they are most closely related to? Who wants to have some fun?
