Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi y'all,

This thread hasn't seen much use in the last *checks posts* 2 years, but I am going to actively encourage people to post here again since Purple reminded me that it in fact exists.

Anyway, I inhabit this space now.

Greetings,

As Prime Minister-elect, I am preparing for the transition to a new Cabinet term.

In the upcoming term, the Coalition will need a new Director of the Office of WA Legislation. Pursuant to Article VI(4) of the Charter, it is my responsibility to appoint an OWL Director for the upcoming Cabinet term.

As promised in my campaign thread, I'll be taking open applications for the position of OWL Director. If you are interested in the position, please forum PM or Discord DM me with your interest and ideas for the position should you be appointed.

Prime Minister @Jay Coop, Minister of Culture @rosaferri and Minister of Engagement @Griffindor, I wish you well and hope you've settled into your respective positions by now.

If you don't mind, I've got a couple of questions;
  • To Minister rosaferri and Griffindor, what did the Ministry of Culture the Minister of Engagement accomplish within the first two weeks of this term, and what goals are you pursuing for this month? Is there any particular obstacle that you believe is going to be an impediment to your progress?
  • To Prime Minister Jay, what's the status on the release of the previous Cabinet discussions in accordance with the Sunshine Act? The past administrations (including mine, I readily admit) have been neglectful of this procedural task and unless I'm mistaken, the Assembly is owed three terms worth of disclosure here (the Witchcraft and Sorcery Cabinet from June 2021 to October 2021, the HumanSanity Cabinet from October 2021 to February 2022, and the HumanSanity/Moon Cabinet from February 2022 to June 2022).

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thank you for your question. I am working on releasing Cabinet discussions between October 2021 and February 2022 by August, as required by the Sunshine Act. In that release, I will also publish discussions between June and October 2021. As for the discussions between February and June 2022, they are due for a December 2022 release, which is beyond this term that expires in October 2022.

Thank you for the question, and my apologizes for the delay!

The first two weeks of my term culminated in doing a roll call of sorts and evaluating which projects were carried over from last term or created this term. This evaluation is in a thread, which should now be publicly available (if it’s not, I will make it so shortly). I have also laid out a goal for the next month to work on the Great Council and ensure that the ministry supports it in whatever way it is needed. Similarly, the Ministry will also be developing a dispatch/thread to help the average user understand the GC and how to contribute, if they do desire.

The only issue or problem I could foresee is a general lack of participation due to inactivity, summer/winter vacations (should any arise), and most notably, the Great Council.

In all likelihood, the GC will be like a giant fire that sucks the oxygen out of the room for other activities. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but don’t expect any far reaching reforms or progress being made until we have an idea of what a Post GC region will look like.

Thank you again for the question, and I am here for any follow up questions that anyone might have.

Thank you for the question!

Generally speaking, the Ministry of Culture has been largely somewhat impeded by a general swell of inter-ministerial inactivity (as has been an ongoing problem with the ministry even before my entrance into the position), as well as some personal life things that have kept me from NS in general. However, as those things begin to clear up, I'll have a clearer picture of my own schedule and work on breathing some life into the ministry.

That aside, the culture calendar officially has no more support. However, in its place, I briefly discussed the establishment of a #games-and-events channel that allows the region as a whole to suggest and host games between each other. Of course, the Ministry of Culture would be the main body responsible for its maintenance, but its general use is as a public utility. I plan on implementing that by the end of the month.

An event commemorating Aegis is expected to occur this month -- I will be touching base with both the PM and MoFA about that event. Alongside that, organizing between the MoFA and MoC will occur as necessary.

Like the MoE said, I do expect the GC to take up a lot of space and activity within the region, so as a general policy being sure to be courteous of the gravity of such an event and not trying to take up too much attention in terms of regional activity will be on my mind throughout.
