Dude, this was something that should have been done in 2016. It's June/2017 now.

Roavin made 307+ hour updates, operations totallying 1200+, can you contribute that much for SPSF?

Have a look at our numbers

(Note to self: I think my numbers could've rivaled Roavin's, except that my raids were taken out of commission because SPSF went strongly defender, so my 2016 stats aren't counted. (Most SPSF missions involved liberating raids that *I* was involved in =_=) That's a possible reason my numbers are low, but I did 27+ hour Updates this month alone as just SPSF. I've been active. Just, gotta catch up =P  )

Okay, I'm just being picky now =_= I gotta learn to keep track of all my raids x3

But seriously, consider this 1 year of SPSF statistics, and also consider Update as something that runs from 12-1AM and 12-1PM  EST everyday. Last year, it was 2-hours long per Update. Consider that, and look at the hours spent by some of our soldiers =P

This is strongly why I think MoMA should dictate who becomes General and who doesn't.

you can keep throwing out numbers but that doesn't address the concern here. Nobody here is disputing his qualifications.

The problem here is his Conflicts of Interest (in the literal meaning, not just our flawed legal meaning) from his foreign military leadership roles. At the end of his term as MoMA he stepped away from the SPSF leadership solely because of CoI issues when he became leader of The Grey Wardens. What has changed now that makes his leadership role of two different NS militaries not a CoI?

I'm also not sure how useful citing statistics for the whole last year are, since for a portion he was MoFA and thus it is legally expected he have a high activity level, and also much of it was before becoming leader of TGW and says nothing about his level and type of involvement since.

Well for one, I think it takes a level of trust that he won't leak SPSF intel to TGW. Given that he's responsible and handled his two regions separately during Imki's term (Roavin actually opted out from participating from a TGW-ordered Liberation against a SPSF raid)

Though I do realize there's quite a bit of maneuvering with this (TGW's policies are restrictive af- and could possibly conflict with TSP-led, although this is rare enough of a 2% chance of happening- and TGW has some terrible FA skills sometimes,)-- in fact I might even withhold "raider intel" from TGW members, provided TSP is planning to support a raider group's raid. (Though, IMO, this doesn't suit our TSP-interests, so it won't be happening, but it's something I could do.) Yeah I don't like Cosmopolitans either but I feel we should make an exception because he contributed so much to the military already, and is a capable leader. In fact out of our *current* members(look at the graph), he deserves the "made most updates" award - In fact I aspire to get as many Updates as possible too for SPSF. Also, it's just him owning a defender org outside of TSP, that's not much different from me owning a raider UCR (I don't anymore because these militaries have died from inactivity.)

Has Roavin ever given us reason to be concerned about conflict of interest?
#39

He seemed sufficiently concerned about potential conflicts of interest that he delayed his effecting discharge of powers as First Warden until his term as MoA ended. Why should his conflict of interest be any less valid today?

Please don't get me wrong, I still think Roavin is one of the most capable players in all of NationStates, when it comes to raiding and defending. That doesn't mean I think his CoI should be dismissed as lightly as some are. It's perfectly possible for him to be a capable and meaningful contributor to the SPSF, while avoiding his CoI. We don't need to force the issue like is being done here.

Because the Minister of Military Affairs is superior to the General.
