[FAILED] Amendment to Article 1 of the Elections Act |

From the Regional Officers list right now, the EC doesn't have Communications power, and it would be rather costly to buy all the stamps needed to message everyone in TSP. The election commissioner isn't a permanent position. Much of the time it ends up being a CRS member, though the are other possibilities. It is always possible for the Del to give communication power to, or to serve as a proxy for the relevant EC, however, and indeed, I believe the Regional Officers Act covers this. The EC is granted the Communications power by law during elections. That’s my understanding of it at least.

I see, though the EC's telegram should have something encouraging non-WA members to join the WA so they could vote. (This shouldn't be necessarily written into law, just a suggestion)

I don't know that it's necessary to write that into the law either. It'll probably come about more organically.
As it's been a little over a day since I asked for additions/modifications and none have been proposed, I move for a vote on this amendment proposed on May 12: Amendment to Article 1 Wrote: Witchcraft and Sorcery Former Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. I second that motion.

Ugh.
I mean, to be honest, I feel like this is a bait and switch because this thread was about campaigning and then somehow it developed into heaping more duties onto the EC. I voted against, will lobby against and, if put into practice, will no longer be an EC. Frankly, it's telling than none of the people voting for this change have ever run an election. While, in theory, I have no problem with mass TGing and always promote Cabinet elections on the RMB, I'm not going to hunt down legislators to individually TG or DM each one of them. That is a ridiculous requirement. Not to mention, there are simple ways around this — like having a dispatch that tags all of the legislators — that are easier to and less time consuming to do.

I saw the first page of this thread and the first page of the voting thread. I was confused as hell lol. Luckily i read the whole thread and saw that this whole conversation changed drastically. There should have been a separate debate thread for this bill tbh.
