Why don't we amend the Charter by renaming the Forum Administration Team as a Communications Administration Team and let them moderate the server?
I agree. The Forum moderators were chosen for a reason and I do not see a problem with letting them moderate the server as well.

I think an amendment may be beneficial; we certainly have moved on as a region from being solely forum-based so a recognition of this new reality is logical.

As for the forum administration team, to my knowledge, the FAT (lol) are all already moderators/admins on the server with perhaps the exception of Kringle (I'm not too sure).

I think a TSP executive server would only be useful, but, some concerns:

1) FA and MA hold many channels, and the overall channel count in the end may exceed 50. They also possess secretive channels and logs.

2) I believe all of the ministers should be granted admin roles, because, while waiting for the administration to discuss creating channels in the main server is ok, waiting for the admin to do everything, including changing channel descriptions, names, create new channels on server which is used by a ministry that you manage would be a pain in the rear.

3) It is the cabinet's pejorative to create such a server. If the legislators force the MoRA departments to breed in captivity to create children who can pay their pensions when they retire, then I can understand the need for such a server. However, I'm quite sure that the cabinet is quite happy with their own servers.

If we take the TNP approach, anyone just joining the server won't have immediate access to all of the channels nor will they see the categories for every ministry. As for secretive channels, we can still modify their permissions so that only a qualified few may see them.

I think we'll be able to grant those powers on a category by category basis, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

It may just as well be that the Cabinet is happy with having their own servers, but this could make it harder for new members of the region to learn about the existence of these servers. If the Cabinet expansion proposal is passed, we will have anywhere between four to six ministries, which may necessitate having them all in one place.

Maybe these new ministries could share the same server? Could make it easier for those who want to participate in several of them. The other ministries would keep theirs.

An opt in, opt out system? This sounds like a good idea.

I think the suggestion that the central server will have somewhere in the vicinity of 50 channels is a very generous projection. I think it is more likely to be in the high-tens to low-twenties with a majority of these being sealed off to all but ministerial staff.

The benefit of consolidating what would otherwise be 5 servers is;
(1) it allows all executive staff members to coordinate all their efforts in one place and thereby make the bigger picture/direction clearer for staff. Moreover, in knowing the general details of what another ministry might be doing, these members will be able to render their assistance more readily;
(2) it centralises moderation efforts. At the moment, while the Discord moderation team has authority over the main server, they do not possess similar abilities in the ministerial servers and this could feasibly cause an issue if and when a concerning matter arises. Through this consolidation, there will be one team across only two servers which is much easier to oversee; and perhaps most importantly,
(3) it provides new nations with an undeniably more straightforward means with which to see what they would like to get involved with and contribute. On this point, I would like to highlight the prospect of a more efficient application process. We could create an application channel wherein new and undoubtedly curious members would see a list of what these various ministries do and fill out an application. Once posted, the respective Minister (or their Deputy) will mask them and they will go through the respective ministry's introduction process.

Of course, certain tasks performed by ministries such as Foreign Affairs and Military Affairs perhaps warrant a more specialised server. I'm thinking of matters such as meeting rooms used by FA or operational channels used by the MA. The bulk of activity for the executive though can and should be brought under one roof. Even if FA and MA don't necessarily spend all their energies in the Executive Server, I would expect that they will at the very least maintain a presence in the server so as to make themselves known to newer members of our community.

On that note, this is a rough structure is based off what appears to be the most popular/commented ministerial proposal — Cultural Affairs, Educational Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Military Affairs, and World Assembly Affairs.

Jay- dear You keep using TNP as an example but we’re NOT TNP. I think creating an executive server would be absolutely ridiculous. we already have a forum. I have asked Roavin before about getting a system on our main discord server to have the links to all of the regional servers that we need. he said it was a good idea but it hasn’t been implemented because life and I forgot. I think that would be a better plan than having a giant executive because it will get messy and over crowed

I have to disagree with the claim that such a server would become overcrowded. It wouldn't be any different than what we have on the main server. I'm going back to a point that I made earlier, which is that people joining an executive server would learn that there are several ministries that they could participate in. It also cuts down on having to be in multiple servers. With regard to invite links to other TSP servers, I agree with that and created a thread with such a proposal. However, we could have a #discord-index channel on the main server with three links (RP, Executive, and Campus) instead of potentially eight links.

The point of having separate servers for separate ministries is so people can OPT to join the one they want to. If you have an executive server I feel it would end up being the same as the main so what would be the point? A #discord link channel is what we need so every invite can be found in one place and a brief explanation of what each server does as needed. On top of that - we can add the server links to the channel descriptions we already have in the main one can’t we?
