Changing Recall Procedures
#11

I would say that really you can't recall someone unless they have broken the law or have severely harmed TSP's foreign affairs . As in my option if someone is elected in you don't like you just have to deal with it. (In real democracy's like TSP's not the UKs) But yes once someone has been elected in you just have to deal with them until there time is up it's a basic rule of democracy.

I would also say that I think the required amount for a majority is fine with 75% any higher would be to high.

75% means you need a three to one margin in favor of recall - 12/4 for example. 60% reduces it to three to two - 10/6 with the same number of voters. 75% allows a small minority to overwhelm a large minority. It makes sense for Charter amendments and life-time appointments, but for recalls? We don't even require 50% for people to be elected.

This should have been enacted from the start.

I agree with Arbiter. This shouldn't be mandated in The Code of Laws.

I agree with Unibot. Recalls shouldn't be easy to pass. It makes the whole process too flexible.

An appeals process for recalls seems rather counter-productive.

An excellent idea.

Bad idea. Recalls shouldn't be near impossible to pass. That would make the process too inflexible.

Given the recent recall motion, it makes sense that an elected official should act in a manner that befits TSP as a region

Wait, really? It would make sense that to be elected would require at least 51% or the highest among the candidates.

You just need a plurality to be elected.

I agree with some of what you said TAC but not all of it. Also the replay to my quote doesn't make much sense or at least in my option.

I was referring to the motion to recall Unibot as CoA. It should go without saying that elected officials should refrain from certain actions/conduct as it could potentially hurt diplomatic relations in the present/future.

I guessed as much but it still doesn't make much sense. Sorry if I have gone a little off-topic.

What I'm saying is that elected officials should be held accountable for their actions.

There were NO actions relating to TSP for him to be accountable to,

It Bothers me that uneducated people are allowed to make decisions. This is why we need a change on recall procedures.
