Recall: Chair of the Assembly
#31

The recall is going to vote anyways, so the Assembly will have an opportunity to decide through their votes whether Unibot should be recalled or not.

I'll accept Unibot's apology, but will support any recall if a similar outburst happens.

Being he's already had the ban lifted in the chat room as it's been determined it's over and he's apologized there and the issue determined to be resolved for now, this is really unnecessary. I still don;t think that the assembly OR TSP has been harmed. Everyone involved realizes who is involved and it's his own actions.

Ya know, I keep harping on hypotheticals, but I'm tired of this idea that what we say outside of an "official capacity" doesn't affect the region.

Unibot's actions -- as does Kris's and GR's and QD's and PH's -- reflect on the region. We, as a region, need to decide whether or not we want a chair who feels it is OK to insult foreign residents.

I -- like SB -- accept Unibot's apology and, as I previously said, am undecided on a recall vote. But, we cannot chalk this up to "Unibot being Unibot" or "Unibot's personal opinion". This is the Chair of our Assembly insulting a resident of TEP. Again, we -- as a region -- need to determine if this is someone we want representing us to the NS community at large.

The aspect you're missing, Tsu, is that the people involved are a bunch of people that don't already like each other. If Unibot went off on somebody in TNP or Lazarus, or caused a huge scandal in NS, and they were calling us out for not doing anything about it, then there'd be a real issue. But this is just Todd McCloud and buddies stirring shit up with Unibot, instead of just ignoring him. Nothing has changed.

This goes to vote at the end of tomorrow (October 2).

That's part of the problem. People are "citizens" of TSP but pay more attention to regions where their main is continue to come and stir up trouble. Trouble in a non regulated area no less this time. Not saying that all people are horrible just most in my opinion. We have to think before we elect Anybody are we going to want them to represent us as a whole in NS. we had this problem like less than a month ago with GR. I still think we need a way to recall a recall this is getting ridiculous. Not saying that Uni can't go overboard sometimes (no offense Uni) but for cereal :-/ come on people.

Unibot has not damaged anyone in what he did. Yes he may have done something a bit stupid but he has not harmed TSP in anyway. If you don't like him then don't vote for him it's as simply as that.

Frankly, GR, I don't care. I don't care how much of a "victim" Unibot is, I'm really tired of him and/or us explaining away his actions by blaming other people. At some point, it's not everyone else and we need to stop excusing this.

My last contribution to this debate will be to call on someone else from the Cabinet to hold this recall vote. I don't think it's fair to Unibot to make him hold the vote.

I will point out that Penguin is still the Deputy Chair of the Assembly. If it is deemed appropriate and necessary, she could hold the vote.
