Citizenship Before Elections Act
#1

the CBEA Act shall add the following to the code of laws:

Quote:nations that have requested citizenship up to 1 week before a normally scheduled election must be granted or denied citizenship before the election.

this bill has been proposed so that nations that request citizenship up to 1 week before an election are not left out of voting by the staff or government.

I believe previously is that one week before elections was the cut off to stop electioneering. Can someone verify?

oh, you said "to stop electioneering"

well, either way, if it is not law, it should be.

Yes. Because we don't want a rush of people to registering for citizenship during the elections in order to game the system. (Hence the electioneering.)

We can totally make this part of the law, though.

Ok. I motion we put this up for a vote.

It has been administrative policy for a while that citizenship applications are frozen from the week before an election until the election is over. I don't believe it was applied for the first General Election held on these forums, because of the rocky transition period. However, that will be the policy going forward.

We can put it in law, but there's no need to do so.

It used to be in the code of laws. It was there when I first applied for citizenship last year.
