Abolish the Local Council
#121

Has anyone ever thought of granting a cabinet office to the Ministry of Gameside "Affairs", and having its cabinet minister elected on the RMB? The rest of the cabinet would still be elected on the forums, and any serious candidate would need to realistically have a forum (and at the very least) discord access.

The RMB would from there have their appointed mod team. The gameside minister could also be one of the mandated RO positions.

I am open to the idea above, but I'd rather keep The Local Council.

What about have the MoGA appoint LC's?

What about a system of LC appointments?

This sounds somewhat like my Minister of Home Affairs proposal.

Which, funnily enough, I voted against Tounge

My idea is indeed very similar, but the Local Council itself would no longer exist, with only one "At-Large" minister being elected from the RMB to the cabinet.

Having seen your proposal from 2020 again, I would likely support such a thing this time, including leaving the LC intact. Perhaps even making the elected minister head of the LC too. This would hopefully give the "Minister" more of a mandate to drive activity on the RMB while also having two elected "deputies" to assist.

I find it a bit appalling that most of the people who want to abolish The Local Council, are rarely active on the RMB. So, to those who support abolishing such an extraordinary body, I have a task for you: how about you go over to the RMB and see what people think over there?

Don’t take this harshly because I seriously didn’t mean it that way.

I'm decently active and probably the only citizen regularly and uninterruptedly involved in (RMB, Assembly, TSRP, the Main Dis-) so anyway;
My final opinion is that it should not be abolished. However, it should not be a moderating institution and I would especially stress that it should NOT be a separate jurisdiction as it currently is by Chapter I (5) of the Charter.

I see the point you are coming from, but there is an emphasis on the word, “most.” But that doesn’t mean all. :)

Yeah but I was also questioning something but trying to be suggestive about it rather than being blunt.

Since you're also the other person who's active on all mediums of TSP, do you really think that the LC should, by the most supreme law, be given its own jurisdiction?
Now, as MoC - shouldn't the LC and TSPRP staff be more focused on incentivizing RP and activities within the RMB and TSPRP instead of moderation? Think about it but as a Minister. I still believe that LC can be utilized (actually utilized properly if moderation isn't their responsibility); even if my original idea for LC was tying it more to The Delegate than to MoC.

calling it now, if the lc gets abolished and we appoint mods they are going to be inactive and the rmb is going to fall into disrepair

Calling it further in: Another omni-regional debate will occur. (November 2022-March 2023)
Betting on the stock: Mods are kept in, LC is brought back. (April-July 2023)
Seeing the horizon: ^Above "solution" is kept in place until a nearly survivable coup happens (circa 2027).
