I think we just need to be realistic. Instead of just saying "I want a population of 100 million", look at the size of your nation's territory and get a population that actually makes sense. Kringalia has a size of 394 128 square km, a population of 18 524 016 and a density of 47 pop/km, which is a quite reasonable ratio. No need to have these gigantic population sizes that make no realistic sense at all.
