That could make sense. This is the problem with creating totally AU worlds. The more you build it, the more you will have to create origins for various concepts that would otherwise be common for us.

I think, since we use English as lingua franca, that it would make sense to use English to name the moons. When people IRL speak English (as lingua franca), they say the Moon. The same goes for the Sun. We could go into full expert mode and use an Old English diminutive suffix and apply it to Moon and get something like Monack, Moonling, or something like that for the smaller one

Naming planets and other bodies, however, is something else. I would suggest that we use our RP languages and or Greek.

Speaking of languages, I stopped using their RL names a while ago. English I call Austral, for instance.

And Esperanto?

Or is that sufficiently non-Earth?

I never really thought about it. It's kind of a conlang, so I don't see a problem with keeping it's name.

The more I think about it the more I like this idea. I mean, it makes sense and it's simple so it's easy to get, it's neutral and ambiguous and it saves a whole lot of arguments. At least until we get to naming the planets?

We need some linguistic history of TSP as well, for better RP experience and to save arguments.

I propose to choose a root language, like Latin for europeans languages. We need to find an origine for all language, or many root language for each continent. It's more RP and it's compatible with all TSP universe.
