Strunk and the World Forum

It was a rainy afternoon when GI-Land finally accepted their nomination for another term as the seat of the World Forum.
While this does not guarantee the actual outcome of the upcoming vote - FiHami and Hystaiga are also promising candidates - it is at least a first step in the right direction for the Federal Republic, which already had posession of the speaker position in the first speakership-term, but Mr. Strunk gave it up and entrusted the Omegan ambassador with this task.

Now, two years after his first election, Mr. Strunk tries it again. "We are in an exceptional situation. The Reizen Conflict still hasn't ended yet, even though it looks like it could end at any given moment. Meanwhile a WF member - namely Valkyria - has nothing better to do than to attack another member based on loose indications, probably to push the current nationalistic agenda. To top that all of, we all know that almost every country in the South Pacific struggles with something they probably could need the help of the WF of. Seeing that not many countries trust the WF with these issues is - to say it nicely - concerning. The idea of the WF gets torpedated by this mistrust and also the inaction of several countries in there - also the inaction of GI-Land of course."

GI-Land was more often than not criticised for being too passive on the world stage. Sanctions against Valkyria are not in sight and an intervention in the Reizen conflict to end the misery rather sooner than later are only two examples of where leaders all around the world would have expected at least some promising acts from the current government or the WF-ambassador Strunk. "We are aware that our stage presence needs improvement, but I don't see how this should affect the actual competences of Mr. Strunk. He has fairly clean vest and whatever he touches becomes something good normally, so I don't see a problem in him running for speakership again", King and Leader Gianluca IV. comments the situation.

The question is of course: What topics does he want to touch?
"I think, there are three subjects coming to my mind. The first is what the WF was built upon: We want peace. Seeing conflicts everywhere without a glimpse of a solution in sight sometimes and only Sedunn, but not the WF, calling for negotiations is something that shouldn't be the reality in our globalised world.
Secondly the WF still hasn't decided officially on their commitees fully yet - currently they work independently more or less how they want without a resolution passed by the WF assembly. In my first term I was already starting the process of making commitees and their rules official, but none of my successors seem to have had an interest in continuing that effort, probably seeing how the commitees work 'well enough' without such a resolution.
Lastly - that's a topic I want to bring in personally when the commitees are set up - we hear concerning numbers from FiHami regarding mental health. While our King and Leader already promised me, he would support FiHami on his own with doctors and financial aid, I think, this is a World Forum matter. Together we can send more logistical and financial aid to that country to help fight the increasing severe mental health problems and work out a draft for a prevention strategy several WF-member governments could implement voluntarily in their own home countries. This is what I stand for and this is what I want to get voted for."

How the World Forum member nations actually decided will be revealed in just a little less than a week. Until then the current speaker - Tavtid Lekmienn (Sedunn) - resumes his office.
Signed
