As usual, the 1st Guard Battalion marches first, followed by the Grovne Military Band. Normally, every other unit behind would be military or civilian, but since extensive military exercises south of Grovne were concluded this morning participating units take part in the parade. And the fact that those soldiers have been out on the field for two weeks shows, their marching is not as brisk as those from the Guard Brigade. Fortunately, the two brigades left their vehicles outside the city, or otherwise the Square would've been immensely cramped.

One of the most anticipated acts is the "Surprise Walk" by the Grovne Southern Student Association. Every year the students choose a theme based on an event taking place during the last year, under great secrecy. This year they have named the theme "Not Oil", without any apparent sense, featuring the discovery of a new dinosaur species almost a year ago. With their carefully crafted dinosaur suits they surely stand out from the Harbour Workers' Union ahead, and the 131st Mechanised Company marching behind. In a typical student manner, they have "pimped" the dinosaurs with different hats and gadgets normally not associated with these long extinct creatures. Adding to the strangeness, they march strictly like their colleagues behind.

After crossing the bridge, the paraders assemble in the Teivvte Square along with those watching for King Vimmru's speech.

That may explain it! What do the other readers think?
