The strategy being employed by Committee for the Expansion of the Empire after the unfortunate launch of the Aryyt't probe was based on a narrative where the Treecuu were the victims of foreign aggression and subversion. An outcome where the Star Empire gained an enemy far away would be considered a success, and bolster the support for the Committee. Likewise, managing to persuade the Venterrans of the Treecuu narrative by letting them conduct an investigation on Yim III would be considered an equal success.
