Legislators of the South Pacific,

There has been a seconded motion to bring an amendment package containing amendments to the Legislator Committee Act and the Elections Act to vote. The debate thread can be found here.

This amendment package contains amendments to constitutional legislation, according to the Legislative Procedure Act requiring a majority greater than 60% to pass. The voting period will be 5 days, thus concluding on January 1 at 18:30 UTC (18:30 in London, 13:30 in New York, 05:30 on Jan 2 in Sydney).

Please vote by poll if possible. If you cannot vote by poll, post 'Aye', 'Nay' or 'Abstain' in this thread. Please do not vote both by poll and by post. Comments and discussions belong in the debate thread and should be posted there.

(6) Anyone admitted to legislator status during a forum election in which only legislators may vote, from the time nominations begin until the conclusion of forum voting, may not stand for election nor vote in that forum election.

(4) To be eligible to vote in, or stand for, a forum-based election, a legislator must have been accepted by the Legislator Committee before the period for nominations began for that particular election.

(4) (5) To be eligible to be included in a voting ballot, any candidate must post a campaign in an area designated by the Election Commissioner. The campaign must prominently include a truthful declaration of all potential conflicts of interest the candidate may have within and outside of the South Pacific.

There were 9 Abstentions (17.3%); 40 legislators were absent. Thus, attendance for this vote was 56.5%.
In light of these results, the proposal passes, having achieved the required majority (>60%).
