[OOC discussion] Archiving the embassy threads?
#1

We have a lot of embassy threads. Their main function seems to be like an index of ambassador names and sometimes location of embassies, but actual diplomacy being conducted through them is very rare. Embassy information is a nice detail to have, but does it really motivate all the space and administrative work having them? Aside from occasional applications, the Embassies subforum is mostly quiet.

I would further argue that in a majority of cases, embassies have already been in place for decades, if not centuries, not requiring applications now.

Should we archive the embassy threads and abolish the subforum and this type of threads? Perhaps instead of this subforum (if we still want to keep some embassy info), we could have a master thread in the Pacifica subforum or the Diplomacy subforum where everyone can list their ambassadors to other nations?

I think it sounds like a reasonable idea, it would definitely make sense that all the embassies would already be set up and having the master thread would end up making things a lot easier for people to bring up who their ambassadors are instead of having to go through all the embassies and submit applications.

It seems I can now proceed to ask for getting this subforum archived.
