Thank you.

I would like to remind all citizens that contrary to the administration's threat, you do in fact have the right to speak your mind within reason and campaign here if you are so inclined and the Assembly will remain a free speech zone. In any event, I hope the admins do create the election subforum soon, so that we can organise campaigning there, instead of here.

Unibot -- you offered this space to early campaigning so I find it rather rich that you now have a problem with it. Further, you will not bully the admin team under the guise of free speech.

I would like to point out that while people can post campaign threads and the like, that does not preclude them from attending to the other election procedures as outlined by the law.

He is not bulling the admin team he is giving a very good point. There is nothing in the Code of Laws that says you can not campaign early, so by those laws you could campaign for any position whenever the hell you like.

Unibot has offered up this space for early campaigning and it is being used for it. Glen can not just tell people that they can't open up a campaign thread until the 15th as that would brake free speech, the law does not say you can not start campaigning until the 15th. If Glen has a problem with people making campaign threads here maybe he should make a area for campaigning and move the treads there.

And that has literally nothing to do with what Tsu said. We are not going to open Election Central ahead of time. End of story.

Punchwood -- This is exactly the point. The admin team does not need to search through threads to figure out which ones should be moved to the election area when it's set up. Maybe this should be done with the disclaimer that, if you choose to campaign prior to voting, be aware that it takes and -- and possibly a request -- to move to campaign threads.

Further, Unibot has offered the space but had also complained to the admins that the campaign threads don't belong in the Assembly. He seems to be offering one stance in public and one behind closed doors. And when the admin team offered much the same views represented here, Unibot felt the need to suggest the admin team -- the people tasked with running the elections -- should have no input in this and insulting the administration team. If that's not attempted bullying, I'm not sure what is.

Before we get into yet another shouting match about the tyrannical admin team, please read what I wrote again. We did not say people CANNOT campaign early. We are not BANNING any kind of speech. We kindly requested that other candidates refrain from doing so. This is the first time in recent history that people have started campaigning a full week before elections start. We don't want it to become standard practice. As the people who administer the elections, we should be able to request that people follow common practice.

Excuse me, Tsunamy - but the only one trying to bully someone is you. Furthermore, I resent the implication that I am saying something different in public than I am in private - I had assumed that you wouldn't want the Chair to challenge your authority in public. But since you have decided to play politics, I feel a certain license in reminding you that I don't back down just because someone acts tough with me.

The Assembly will always remain a place for free speech - if someone wants to campaign, they can campaign here. However, I do believe that it'd be better for the Assembly if campaigning were done in a campaigning subforum. You and the administration team has stubbornly tried to prevent campaigning and shift the blame for campaigning to the Assembly and the Chair for his commitment to "freedom of speech" (which apparently means nothing to you).

There is a very simple solution here - the administration can open the subforums for the elections, four days early, and move the campaign threads there. Or they can keep bullying members about it and try to get "their way". But don't try to bullshit me and don't try to bullshit TSP, Tsunamy.

For the nth time, we will not open Election Central ahead of time. I'm tired of repeating that again and again.

Please. As soon as someone calls you out in your blatant power play you become the martyr.

There's a better solution. If you don't like the way the administration runs elections change the law to have an appointed election commission run them. Perhaps you'll have better success intimidating them.

Instead of grandstanding ahead of the election, do something.

We do have elections run by election commissioners. Despite the fact that three of you are planning to run in elections, you're deciding to organise the forum in a certain way as administrators to stigmatize early campaigning and directly affect our elections.

And furthermore, I am not a martyr and I would ask that you stop with the insults now.
