When I was Vice Delegate, I did indeed run citizenship checks and mask or re-mask people. The idea during that time was that the Vice Delegate had no clear responsibilities and sometimes it seemed like they did not exist or contribute anything which caused many people to ask, "What is the VD role anyway?" I was given the task of checking citizenship.

If the discussion is moving towards giving the VD this job then I suggest asking Asta, Eluvatar or others on IRC for the automation tools as it really was a tedious job and considering how our numbers have only grown since then, its easy to make a human mistake.

Clarity on the limits and function of the EC are important and maybe someone either revise the legislation proposed, offer an alternative since that is what we do need to focus on to avoid future issues. The most important thing is that the EC + whoever whether Admins or VD check the citizenship list 24 hours or so prior to the elections and publicly post the list of eligible voters.

I am wondering why, for example, Tsunamy you haven't been running citizenship checks since you've been on the admin list as well since the move to this forums? I imagine with three admins, it would make sense to split the job alphabetically and each person take 1/3 of the list. With the automation tools provided it would even make the job simpler.
