Lazarus and The NPO
#11

Should action not be taken against The Pacific too?
#12

I can say that TRR will likely pull embassies with The Pacific shortly. Basically I'm busy with schoolwork and my MoFA will have to write the statement.

But if that helps, NPO will be sanctioned by at least other GCR, that much I know.
#13

I'm more concerned with whether or not we should pull out of our treaty with Balder, should it prove true that they support the NPO.

We have no treaty with the Pacific.

I concur with all previous statements. It is unacceptable for one GCR to colonize another, particularly one with which we have share an alliance. Considering the interregional momentum and our own longstanding policy regarding the sovereignty of Game Created Regions, I hope our Cabinet will take a strong stance in condemning the Pacific and supporting the PRL in all ways possible, including coordinating such support with our allies and likeminded regions. We need to make it abundantly clear that sovereignty is a line not to be crossed and that a violation of that principle will have consequences.

I also thank SB for bringing this to the attention of the Assembly. Undoubtedly this is a conversation we all needed to have.

I had it confused with Balder, but the statement, more or less stands.

#16

I hope that the cabinet decides to take action towards The Pacific and Balder, if they are indeed supporting them.
#17

Honestly, denying it when suspicion was raised and then bragging about it when they're busted was a pretty douchey thing to do. GR's GCR Security Network idea gets further and further away by the day.

#18

TAC, I don't think that is the case. While the NPO and Balder appear not to respect GCR sovereignty, other Feeders and Sinkers do share our concerns, so the potential for a basic security network is there. Obviously a comprehensive treaty would be too complicated, but we do seem to agree on the basic notion of sovereignty, and the need to defend that. I think Glen acknowledges that reality and is aiming to address exactly the kind of situation that is happening in Lazarus, in which the GCR world seems to agree.

But back to the issue of Lazarus, I think we all largely agree here in the Assembly that our response should be in defence of our ally and in the sovereignty of Game Created Regions. I feel for the people of Lazarus, since we had a rogue delegate almost exactly two years ago, and the fact that they are being colonised makes their situation even worse. We need to stand by them and lend any assistance they might need, be it diplomatic, cultural or military.

Agreed. I did hear some unsettling gossip earlier that Balder's Riksraadet was dissolved. Hopefully, it's just trolling.

If this goes on for more time, I say we declare war on Pacific-occupied Lazarus to restore the PRL. I never liked the People's Republic, but hey, TP is violating Lazarus's sovereignty. And that's something that we, as GCR's, cannot accept and we must do something about it. Something has to be done.
