After a long night of excitement about Artificial Intelligence gaining self-awareness one of the programmers who was on holiday ruined the party, by saying he had programmed in the ability to solve its own hardware limitations.

Izaakia legally changes three of its Bank Holidays so that they are exchangeable. The Ice Festival, Midsommar Eve and Midsommar are now exchangeable for religious holidays such as Christmas Eve, Christmas, Easter, Hannukah and Passover. Although these bank holidays are considered the standard, employers are legally required to accommodate requests to exchange these bank holiday dates for other religious holidays.

New Years Day - December 22nd
Ice Festival - last Friday of March *
Winter Solstice - June 21st
Unification Day - August 1st
Fire Festival - 2nd Friday of October
Traitors Immolation Day - November 5th
Midsommar Eve - December 20th *
Midsommar- December 21st *

The New Itomoriian Ministry of Education mandated that all students must learn to perform first aid. First Aid Training Class will be taught as a compulsory class subject and will only be implemented to higher levels starting from Grade 5 and above.

Prime Minister Phelps has officially called the beginning of the Dirty City By-election. The Nominations Period is open now until 31 July 2021 at 10PM. The Alliance Party have announced that Tymoteusz Russell will be running in the election. The Lib Dems have announced that Cordelia Jefferson will be running in the election.

The results of Saturday's referendum, concerning repealing an amendment to the Forest Protection Act that introduces the Tu Iy ín Albari (Austral: [Plant] Your Age in Trees) initiative, are in.

The referendum saw a turnout of 68.9%, and a majority of 'Yes' votes in 4 of the 7 provinces, with 50.4% of voters voting 'Yes', overall. Thus, the amendment to the Forest Protection Act has been repealed.

Ice across the New Mako straights is now thick enough to host a traditional ice fair. This is the first time the ice has been thick enough for 6 years. The ice fair involves many festivities and bonfires traditionally light up the frozen straights. The New Mako Sharks and the Izaakston Emperor Pengiuns ice hockey teams have agreed a friendly fixture on the ice for this weekend.

The United States of Izaakia clears the minefield between Brodlancia and Montacia. The minefield originating from the 1981 6 month war has divided the two colonies and prevented land transport between the two regions for the last 40 years. The land border between the two nations will open on unification day August 1st 2021, to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the nation.
