Due to the ongoing civil war, the Frost Empire has used a rarely used law to justify the seizure of all Qaweritoyan assets in the Empire and placed Qaweritoyu on a do not travel advisory and travel ban. The Empire has also embargoed all goods from Qaweritoyu and condemned the country for moving backwards.

President Davis has stated at a press conference this morning that although the Prime Minister's move was "old-fashioned" and "backwards", the people did vote her in and she is doing what she promised to do. "I see that Joanna Barrett has, today, legalised slavery. This is an old-fashioned and backwards act. We have checked, however, a number of times and the election held on Christmas Day last definitely was not fiddled, the majority of our citizens voted for Mrs. Barrett to become the Prime Minister. She made her promises, whether I agree with them or not and she is keeping her promises. The best I can do is talk and meet with Mrs. Barrett but I cannot block this issue until it escalates and violates a term of the Constitution of the Lieutenant's Republic of Qaweritoyu. Thank you."
