After the abandonment of parliament by the defending royalist forces, a Le Rogue assault on the building was successful and unopposed. Royalist forces have pushed back Le Rogue force into the parliament building and now the paramilitary forces are believed to be on the point of capitulation.
Prime Minister Barrett and Dr. Speaker Johnathon Wallace have said they have been thinking about the timing of their departures but they are trying to time them well given the very challenging times the country is currently facing. They have said they are pushing their departures back rather than bringing them forward.
A member of the public has said the Government's biggest problem is avoiding racism. Prime Minister Barrett agrees.
After a heated debate the Königspalast has rejected the motion by the Green Party, who wanted to implement a universal basic income. "Our concerns still outweigh the potential benefits, we can't be assured of", explained several politicians from SLP, SDP and LGI in a joint statement.
On another note the parliament voted unanimously in favour of introducing the right to one's own data as a basic right into the constitution.

Brother Unclepear, in a televised speech, has commented on the situation in North Prarie, saying that "once again, the Ryccian imperialists are spewing chaos in the South Pacific, with their aggression against the common people of North Prarie". The Dear Leader also launched a not-so-veiled warning to other countries to "not be idle, and work uninamously to stop the Ryccian military aggression", threatening to "support the brave fight of local resistance against the invaders and the puppet regime".

In her opening speech she promised economic reform, a strong environmental agenda and a modernisation initiative in the armed forces. Commenting on the La Montagne Crisis she committed to finding a solution to balance the fragile economic state of izaakia, and the human rights of the Montagnese.
In her first act as prime minister, Valkyrie Mountbatten has banned the use of plastic straws.
