Izaakia begins a program of deregulation of its financial markets in what is already considered one of the least regulated markets in the world. The financial sector which is already considered a pathway to tax evasion through the special administrative region of New Mako welcomed the deregulation as a sign of the governments commitment to job and wealth creation.

Prime Minister Barrett has appointed Cynthia Erickson as Treasury Minister, Kristine Torres as Minister of the Homeland and Arthur Singleton as Defense Minister.

Vice-Prime Minister Phelps has tendered his resignation as Vice-Prime Minister. He has made clear his reasons for doing so will not be discussed. Prime Minister Barrett has accepted Mr. Phelps' resignation. Speaking in an interview this morning, she stated, 'Luke and I get on very well. Luke is one of the most reliable people in the Government and his constituents are lucky to have him representing them. Luke and I have agreed that I will look for another Office for him to hold, because it's a sore mistake not to work with someone like Luke, and until then, he will continue in his role as Vice-Prime Minister.'

In light of how the Prime Minister spoke of Mr. Phelps, and with unconfirmed rumours circulating of the Prime Minister's departure from Office, the public have started to question if Mr. Phelps could be the next Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Barrett has appointed Luke Phelps as Minister of International Diplomacy, ending his term as Vice-Prime Minister. The Prime Minister has stated, for the moment, Vice-Prime Minister Ortiz will hold the Office of Vice-Prime Minister alone.

Alejandro Ebert has tendered his resignation to Speaker Wallace of the Lower Chamber, as MP for Ballater, on the basis of age. Speaker Wallace has accepted his resignation. He stated that Mr. Ebert will remain in his position until his constituents have had a local election to elect his replacement. Speaker Wallace is now working with the Prime Minister and Mr. Ebert to organise a local election for Ballater next week. The Modern Marxist Party has announced that Kade Chandler will be standing for election as the Modern Marxist candidate.

The official result of the state elections yesterday were published.
In the state of Atlantis, the SLP could be pushed from their throne as a Green-Conservative coalition becomes likely.
In Greater GI-Land the Conservatives as well as the Greens could form a coalition with the formerly sole-reigning social liberals.
In Lesser GI-Land the switch is set for either a very leftist coalition led by the Greens or a middle-left state coalition led by the Social Liberals.

Today former Prime minister Ernest Le Rogue was spotted at the Olicana Polo Club, when asked by a journalist when he came out of a coma he replied “Rumours of my incapacitation have been greatly exaggerated.”
