On the Vice Delegate
#11

Penguin is currently under an official Leave of Absence, and therefore not subject to normal activity requirements.

I did not see her post to that effect. Where is it?

Did she grant it to herself, seeing as the Vice Delegate is the only one authorized to approve Leave of Absences?

And while we're on the subject, let's examine that law:

Quote:4. The Vice-Delegate may grant a leave of absence from the CSS for a member on military or intelligence duty for The South Pacific. Members on leave of absence remain voting members of the CSS, but will not be part of the line of succession to the Delegacy.

Did the Vice Delegate just effectively remove herself from the line of succession? Is she on military or intelligence duty?

There is no other mention, that I can find at least, of leave of absences, and certainly not any exemptions from normal activity requirements, which Kris is claiming in the post above.

That said, I too am concerned about Penguin's overall trend of activity. As of now she is not set to lose citizenship, but that doesn't deny the fact that her public activity during the past five months has been close to none. I would really hope for our Vice Delegate to be actually active in the region. Yes, we've been told she is in constant contact with the Delegate, but I think it's also important that she be part of our regional community.

I understand that currently she has RL issues, and that is fine, I respect it. I am talking about her overall activity since the first term. Once her issues are solved, I do hope she'll be a bit more engaged, since it's good to see our officials be active members. She may be in contact with the Delegate, but she also needs to be in contact with the region.

Still, a publicly available post about her LoA would be good.

Did we define the explicit powers of the appointed Citizen Processor? If it is all the powers of the VD related to citizenship without the CSS, then I can revoke LoAs possibly. That's what I'm thinking anyways.

Not like I would.

And I'll be checking all Citizens for their citizenship tonight.

She posted an LoA in the Cabinet office on April 13.

While we didn't delineate a manner of appointing someone to cover citizenship app, it had been suggested that we wait until the person asks for a leave, before appointing someone else.

I believe the some aspects would still be needed during an LoA -- like a nation in the region.

Look sadly Pen can't do her job as Vice Del anymore she rarely post here or on NS and currently has RL issues. Therefor it is simply impractical to keep her as VD. Furthermore as we can see from the last MtG people she is not the most popular Cabinet member.

What does her popularity have to do with any of this?

She is dealing with RL issues and has taken a leave of absence. Which is hers and any of ours right to do.

Popularity has to do with this because people are saying she never posts or does anything. Yes she has a right to take time off however it seems she always has RL issues because she is never one. She can't do her job and therefor someone else who has to time has to take over. We can't put the needs of one above the whole regions.

I wasn't aware that I needed to win a popularity contest to be Vice Delegate. I apologize for the "lack of activity". However given my current circumstances, I'm doing the best I can. The only one who is aware of my situation is Tsu as he is the only one it concerns. Just because I don't post where you can see doesn't mean that I'm not here. I'm not saying I've been the best VD this term. Far from it. I know I'm lacking in the public realm, but I aware of what is happening here.
