SPSF Review - May
#81

(05-08-2015, 12:29 PM)southern bellz Wrote: You and Wolf are doing the exact same thing.  You even both use the same logic to justify your aggression towards each other.

Your not just asking harmless questions and he's not just giving harmless answers. You're both acting like children.

My questions and suggestions:
  1. "I would like to hear about what our newest General is doing and has planned."
  2. "Have you thought of any missions? Anybody to work with? Where's your WA right now? Where has it been since Henn nominated you?"
  3. "What missions has he done? What reforms has he been thinking about? What kind of efforts will he make with recruitment and retention?"
  4. "So there's one concrete thing that the Ministry can do-- be in regular contact with the MoFA, especially on missions that implicate our allies (either by working with or against them, or working with or against their enemies)."
  5. "Having a mission log is also a good idea. It could be as simple as a stickied post in the MoA forum with a table of missions, who participated, what region was targeted, what kind of mission it was, if it succeeded, etc."

His responses:
  1. "I'm sorry, was I thinking operationally again? How silly of me."
  2. "Why are you sidestepping my questions anyway, Glen? Answer them here or I will start a formal thread in the Operations Center. Either way I want my answers."
  3. (Paraphrase) "If you don't like what we're doing, recall us."
  4. "... If someone in the Assembly wants to be treated as if their opinion is the same as an SPSF trooper, then I suggest they join the South Pacific Special Forces."
  5. "For a person who is obsessed with the idea that the Ministry of the Army needs to post detailed accounts of everything we do and is critical about activity levels within the SPSF, I find it ironic that Glen runs perhaps the most inactive and mute Ministry out of the three we have.

Perhaps we should do a MoFA review next?"
  6. "On the other hand, we did just capture Atlantic, perhaps the Assembly can review that if they so desire?"

Don't even tell me that I'm being flippant and combative, SB. Yes, Wolf and I are political opponents. That doesn't mean every single exchange between us can be boiled down by others as, "Oh, they're just engaging in a pissing match." No, I've asked very reasonable questions, considering Wolf has probably had the quickest rise in this region's military while also having the least to actually show for it. I'm not sorry that I think that's a good reason to put it all under a magnifying glass. The circumstances of his thrust into leadership are extraordinary, so it's reasonable to ask fairly obvious questions and expect decent responses. I'm being critical-- Wolf is being flippant and snarky.

Of the somewhat decent responses we've got, it's very lackluster. The grand plan for the SPSF is to... get more maskings, as the highest priority. Come up with just some kind of recruitment plan (no details). Improve training... somehow. And then, literally, "everything else." I mean, come on, SB, would you vote for an MoA with that campaign?

Henn has been cooperative, though he is focused more on listing missions than explaining a vision. Again, I thank him for being reasonable. I really encourage him to give us a bigger image of what he wants to do. If I'm writing this review, that's the first thing I'd want to mention.

Speaking of which, why don't we actually start drafting it? It's clear the biggest issue we've found is communication, so that's a place to start.

Just a quick Update, The North Pacific Army is now assisting SPSF in the Atlantic.

I can't see how G-R's post is anything childish; he's outling his points for review.

Personally, I'd like to see some polling done of TSP on their perception of the army and perhaps why they haven't joined the army or participated in it.

Me and Kris have discussed several ideas for contacting about knowledge of the SPSF.

That is a very good idea. Like Henn said, we are planning something along those lines.

We might take some time to fully implement everything, but I think we are both seeing a lot of potential in the plan we are drawing up.

That sounds like an excellent move. I'd like to thank Henn and Kris for this.

The Local Council also has an idea for a poll on the SPSF. Just felt a need to share it.

Cool. Looking forward to it.

The poll is up. The majority of people voted for the option of "I don't really know what they've done the past few months". I take this to mean that although activity is increasing, and opinion is improving, we've not done enough to publicize the results of our missions on the RMB.

On a side note, the poll has had over 50 voters. This clearly shows that the RMB people do indeed care about our government and are willing to give their opinion on it.

That point has come up several times during this review.

At this point, may the Assembly begin drafting a final Review?
