Nomination of a vice delegate
#21

Ok guys, sorry for the delay.

I am relatively new to the region, but ever since I've been here I have been actively involved in the MoRA, highlighted by the fact that I'm currently a Director in the Fellowship Programme and a member of the advisory council. More recently, I have also been elected to the local council as the chief local councillor. I concede that I am relatively inexperienced, but I feel I make up for that with my keenness and willingness to learn.

As Vice Delegate, I think there are a couple of important things that I'd like to do. Firstly, I think it is important to have more regular citizenship checks, and also make sure that checks occur before the beginning of any elections. In my opinion, it's incredibly important that something like what happened with the MoFA election never happens again. I also think that it is important that we continue to further engage the RMB community.

I hope that helped and if you've got any more concerns or queries I'll do my best to answer them for you.

Are you involved in any other regions in NS?
#23

I've got a few puppets in other regions, but I'm not particularly involved anywhere else.

I want to support you, I have no problem with you however I rarely see you. You don't post in the Assembly meaning you don't have that
experience, I don't see you post on the RMB often and though I rarely go on it I don't see you on the IRC often either.

You are a member of the FP and you work in Trivia and Quizzes, Regional Games and Games Development. What have you actually done in these projects? The last two we have had a Regional Games however in the thread where we had the discussion on RG you never posted once and currently in a thread where we are having a discussion on a upcoming festival you having posted once either. In the short time in this term I was in the Advisory Council I only ever saw you post once and that was when you had just joined the Council.

You are a member of the Local Council in fact you were the only one elected into the Council however what have you done in the Council in fact what has the Council done at all?

Finally you just said you had exams going on, how can you give TSP the time it needs if you are I hope revising? The last VD had to resign because of time restraints how can we know the same won't happen with you?

I ask these question not because I am against you I ask these because I don't know if you can really do the job. I also ask this because I don't think people should just give there support to something so important straight away. If you can answer these questions and answer them so I believe you, I won't doubt you at all in office.

I'll work my way through these concerns you have.

Firstly, you are partly correct when you say that I don't post in the assembly. I don't post there that much, I prefer to sit there and follow what's going on quietly and only post when I need to. I don't see what posting the same thing as seven other people brings to the table. My RMB posting has been a little bit down recently, but I'm usually posting on there a lot more. As to IRC, I find your comment there to be quite improper. You admit that you are very rarely on there, yet you still think it necessary to dismiss me as being inactive there too. I am on there daily, for several hours with few exceptions. I have never seen you on there once. If you don't believe me, try poking your head in at some stage a bit more often and I'm sure you will find me there, unless you deliberately wait until the middle of the night for me.

As to your concerns about my lack of activity in the fellowship program, it happens that I actually do a lot of my work on IRC, talking to various members of the MoRA staff and also on the various google docs that we get up and running for different things, including the regional games. You say so yourself that you were only in the advisory council for a very short period this term, and I wasn't a member of the advisory council at the start anyway. I'd be surprised if you and I were both members of the advisory council for a week, so I hardly think you can make much of a comment there either. Just because I'm not posting every five minutes in a thread doesn't mean I'm not working hard behind the scenes.

As to the activity of the local council, we have been doing a lot of preparatory work and smaller things to start with, as well as planning how we're going to achieve our bigger goals. We've had 2 main goals; making sure the RMB community is more involved with the running of the region, and making sure that there is plenty of fun and games to be had on the RMB. Visible progress has been slow, as such we've currently only held a couple of games on the RMB, ran a poll and provided alternative music for the South Pacifica Radio, however we've got several things being worked on behind the scenes, which I won't say too much about, other than that they should be good and shouldn't be too far away. Some of them, at least, are very close to ready.

As to the exams and the concerns about my time: When you have exams, do they usually go all year round and require 100% of your time be devoted to them? I had a week of exams, that week was last week, that week is over. I've got no more exams until the end of the year, and last time I checked, this term will be well and truly over by that time. From now until then, I'll be able to concentrate fully on NS, and even at that time, I would be able to organise my time well enough to be on here when needed and to study when I'm not needed.

I hope that answers everything, and if not feel free to ask for further clarification.

Sam on the IRC we live in different time zones so that may mean we don't see each other on there often.

You need to post on the Assembly so people know your views on things and so people know you are involved in regional government. This makes me think if he doesn't post in the Assembly will he post in the Cabinet discussions and will he make the right choice.

On the FP you don't do anything so don't try and say you do. Anyone can do the google docs and anyone can talk to people on the IRC. Even with you doing this it's not much is it? You don't talk in the FP at all do you? We were in the AC for more than a week together and as I said you only posted once there and I'm sure when those threads go in the archives I won't see many posts by you.

On the Local Council, just don't. If you don't say these are done by the Local Council then no one knows.

Look I would have back you, however after these answers I can't. I don't believe you told me the truth and nothing but the truth

In the cabinet there won't be 7 people all saying the same thing; I do post in the assembly, only when I feel like I've got a need to put a point across. I don't post there just for the sake of increasing my post count and there are times when I really don't feel like I've got anything to add, just like many other people here, yourself included I'm sure.

Once again, you're giving me this I was with you for a week so I know everything rubbish. In reality, how many times did you post in that time? I don't recall seeing you break any records for posting there. Come to speak of it, I don't recall seeing you post there. In fact, a quick count comes to 6 posts from you, half of which came from an inappropriate rant, and only 1 of which was related to MoRA business.

You say anyone can talk to people on IRC, you say anyone can take part in google docs, yet I've never, not once, seen you take part. You've never attended any of the meetings, nor taken part in any of the planning. There's a lot more to being involved in the Fellowship Programme than just having a couple of posts every now and then. I can contribute just as much, if not more, by brainstorming with the MoRA, or with a deputy, or with any member of the MoRA staff. As you've never been present at any stage, I don't think you can make any reasonable comment as to my activity and participation in the fellowship programme.

Am I mistaken or did I not just say that? Anyway, thanks for your input here and you're right. We probably do need to tell people that we're doing these things, otherwise they will indeed think that we are sitting there twiddling our thumbs. As to the big things that I mentioned, I hope to have the first of a series out in the next few days, after it undergoes editing. The rest will follow, over a set schedule.

Punchwood, if you seriously think I lied to you, I ask you this: Why would I lie to you? What have I got to gain from trying to fool someone who is clearly not a fool? All that would do is turn you and others against me, all for no reason. If you care to elaborate further on where you think I've lied to you, I'll happily answer any further queries you have.

Actually, I'm not sure I can support someone who prefers pie over cake Wink

I think you mean the other way around. Otherwise you can't support yourself. Happywide
