What is our universe, really? Is it like IRL, earth? does it have to be like earth? I want it to be like Baliish and Basil Day, it was fun, it was exciting. I truly loved being there, where I can actually make a story out of it. I liked the fact when I wrote something about Islamic culture, and everyone would like to know about it. I like the time when I read about black zombies plaguing a nation, the time when a princess sky dived to a party, the time when you actually let your imagination run free and wild.

But now, the magic is gone. The zing is over, I don't like this place anymore. It's like when you wake up from a good dream, to pull you back to reality.

This thread is fiction, the entire TSP universe is fiction, The word "Role-play" means that it's fiction. I want to make a good story for everyone to read. Like I did before, but now, its just not worth it anymore with you guys constantly picking me off.

A good story needs conflict and cohesion, both of which your "stories" sometimes lack.

If you are a storyteller in this instance, I like to think of myself as a proofreader (which I actually am).

And the way you guys "Responded" doesn't make all the elaborate writings worth it anymore.

Conflict? The haze is a conflict. My governor being tried for something she didn't commit is a conflict. Hammerstar trying to explore space is a conflict. The Pendragon Education fund (Which coincidentally was my grandfather's wish as well, of me educating people), is a conflict. The Seed bank is a conflict, Project West is a conflict. All of those qualify as a conflict, they are problems that would spark into a story.

Or how about times when there are no conflicts, how about the time when I wrote something about the Ramadhan celebration? What's the conflict in that? Or how about Basil Day, what's the conflict in that?

Just feeling that this is no longer fun making it elaborate anymore.

I spent like.. Hours making these articles so that it would become descriptive, and actually depict of the situation Hammerstar is going through. Like the article about the valiant governor being tried, you can detect a sense of bias there from La Rapière, because Amelia is considered to be one of the greatest leaders in the history of the nation, and almost everyone loved her just, elegant and eloquent decisions.

I crafted it for a long time, and you immediately shot it down as if it was a bug.

That's because it technically is a bug in our RP's code. Tounge

As said many times by the others, we try to roleplay within the realm of logic and, well, things-that-make-sense. You are going for a more fantastic idea, which while not any better or worse, does not match the rest of the story. You said in the other thread that this is a puzzle and you hold a piece, but it seems like the piece you are holding does not fit where you are so desperatly want it to.

Okay, let's take a short break here.

I get what Hammerstar is doing. I really do, and I think it is wrong that he should restrict his imagination just because we all roleplay in a certain way. These are his ideas, and his nation would be able to develop the wants wants it to be. I like the fact that he is eager and wants to have fun. We need people to keep it lighthearted.

At the same time, I get the other side, of which I am often a part. We all have a Modern Tech roleplay, so anyone who wants to take part of it has to play as MT. It can be frustrating for them, but it's just not fair for all of us to play a certain way just for someone to barge in and pretend they have everything perfect and sorted out. They might be having fun, but we in turn have fun by making our world adjust to reality.

Both sides need to have fun. Hammer, keep in mind that our way of having fun involves making the world be realistic, and your RP style, as much as you would think otherwise, is just not realistic. There is no point in denying it. Just as well, I know Hammer can be, and often is, frustrating, but we need to be nice to each other. Let's keep our discussions at a certain level.

A princess skydiving into a party is not unrealistic. Showcasing your culture is fine, and encouraged. In fact, we probably should do more cultural roleplays, maybe take a short break from the endless international crises. But we need to have limits.

Hammer, might I suggest having two versions of your nation? One could be the fully MT version we all know. Another would be the one in an alternate world that has all the "unrealism" you want: Hammerstar 2, if you will. There is no reason why you would need to keep it restricted to the main Treasure Island forum. You can keep making threads and all, just marking it as "Hammerstar 2", so we all know it's the other version.

Now, this is nota perfect solution, but do you get the basic idea of what I'm trying to say, everyone? There are options to be explored that don't lead to someone leaving us for no good reason.

I will make a roleplay that people might enjoy, if they can do character RPs as good as nation ones. . .

Idk, I'll see if I would still enjoy it after a couple of posts, but I'll be pulling the plug if it aint fun.
