Venezuela's timezone had been UTC-4:30 since 2007, set there by President Chávez supposedly as a way to save energy costs (it backfired; due to the fact that sunset was around 6:30 pm, people used more electricity). In a rare example of good governance (a broken clock is, after all, right at least twice a day), Maduro's government reversed the change. We're in UTC-4:00 now,

I just saw a video about antipodes, namely, what would be the farthest point on Earth from anyone's current position. In my case, it seems the farthest point on land from my current position is the island of Java, Indonesia.
