"Hahahahaha!"

Ham laughed and stood up to claim his award from Seraph.

"Thank you for these awards, it is a tremendous honor for me, I'd like to thank my family and friends, I'd like to thank the other RP-ers who partnered with me to create beautiful worlds, events and characters. I beg to mention by name only four people who have given me the most affection, appreciation and encouragement...and constant collaboration. The first of the four is an artist, the second is a master, the third is my daughter, and the fourth is as fine a cook as ever performed miracles in a domestic kitchen...and their names are simply, my loving partner, Ai. Continue creating guys."

He stepped down from the stage, and walked to Ai, who was standing up and looking smitten, to hug his creation.

"Thank you." said Ai.

Phew, that break seemed longer than most, eh? But it will have been worth the wait because it's time to announce the winners of the Lampshade and Cabinet Awards! The Lampshade Awards recognise the ‘best of the rest’; those hard to define aspects that help make TSP the region we know and love, and their winners receive one of these luminous gewgaws:

A Lampshade Coco!

First up tonight is the award for Best Spammer in the Hall of Spam.  The Nominees are @rhinotaz, @Qwert and @GI-Land.

And the winner is… @rhinotaz!

Next up, Best Welcomer on the forums.  The Nominees are @GI-Land, @Seraph, @Zak6858 and @”Gordon Freeman”.

And the winner is…. @Zak6858!

There was only one Nominee for Pourer of the Best SPIT for who else could it be than… @RandomGuy199!

The award for Best Journalist is next.  The Nominees are @Seraph, @Punchwood and @Spenty.

And the winner is… @Seraph! [Thanks - Ed.]

And to follow, the award for Best Event Organiser/Participant.  The Nominees are @Seraph and @Escade.

And the winner is… @Seraph! [Thanks again - Ed.]

Now comes the award for Best Admin, without whom the forum community would not function.  The Nominees are Kris Kringle and @Tsunamy.

And the winner is…. Kris Kringle!

We also have one Write-In Award in this segment and a much-deserved one it is too.  The award for Best South Pacific University Lecturer goes to @Qvait!

And finally, for the Lampshade Awards, there's one previously unannounced award, created and selected by the Awards Committee, for Outstanding Contribution to TSP. The winner of this award is known for keeping TSP looking awesome and deserves to feverishness one of her own creations.

Of course, the winner is… @Imkihca!

Now, let us finish this illustrious evening with the Cabinet’s Awards, those special awards handpicked by members of our regional government.

First up, the Chair's Award for the best new legislator of the past twelve months, picked by our former Chair of the Assembly, @Omega. The winner of this award can claim an Assembly Coco statuette for their signature (or wherever else).

And the winner is… @Spenty!

Our second Cabinet Award is the MoRAs Award for best new player in Regional Affairs over the last twelve months, picked by our current Minister of Regional Affairs, @Seraph. The winner of this award can claim a beautiful Lampshade Coco.

The winner is … @Spenty again!

Both the Chair and the MoRA thought that @Spenty’s eager engagement with the region had been infectious, productive and worthy of recognition. Congratulations @Spenty!

Next up, the MoMA s Award for best new member of the SPSF of the last twelve months, picked by our current Minister of Military Affairs, @Roavin. The winner of this award can claim a sparkling SPSF Coco.

And the winner is… @Vietnam.

We've all heard @Roavin’s praise for @Vietnam before, so this one almost goes without saying, and yet say it we must. Congratulations @Vietnam!

Next, the Prime Minister's Award for best new politician of the last twelve months, picked by our PM, @”Drugged Monkeys”. The winner of this award can take home a luxurious Lampshade Coco.

The winner is… @Seraph!

@”Drugged Monkeys” said that this was a tough one to choose as there were two very close candidates. Nevertheless, congratulations @Seraph! [Thanks, thanks and thanks again - Ed.]

Finally, the Delegate's Award for best new player on the RMB, picked by our Delegate, @Tsunamy. The winner of this award can claim a fabulous RMB Coco.

And the winner is … @nahuelm!

Another eager figure whose involvement has sadly been scaled back owing to health issues, they nevertheless made a strong and delightful impression. Congratulations @nahuelm!

Well, what a night it has been! We've got to start tidying up to get things ready for the Anniver-Tsu-ry, but by all means stay, chat, drink, dance the night away, and celebrate, because there’s one award we don't ever have to announce.

Best Pacific!

As he was drinking champagne, Spent was choked  as his name was called on stage for the Chair's award
"I can't believe that I've made it here on this podium. It is truly an honor to receive this award. I'd like to thank Omega for the trust you have bestowed on me, and to other legislators and citizens who helped me made it this far."
As his name was called again for the MoRA's award he almost fainted but kept it together and walked tlup the podium a second time.
"Thank you again for this award! When I set foot in the South Pacific I never knew I would be in Regional Affairs since I don't even write in real life nor am I an extrovert but I decided to give it a try and to be honest I like working in RA. I'd like to thank Roavin, Omega, Seraph, Escade, Punchwood and the rest who helped me in this journey. Once again thank you and good night!"

After the ceremony he strutted in the red carpet with his two statuettes. He joined the afterparty and probably drank too much booze.

The barman rose from his seat. He already had an "entrance song" prepared for the ceremony, seeing that he was the only nominee and all.

After taking the statuette, he pulled up a long piece of paper and started reading.

"Thank you all for this totally unexpected prize. I want to specially give my thanks to: my assistant @GI-Land, who helps me deal with drunk assho... I mean jerks, and keeps business running when I'm making totally legal business abroad; my old friend/fellow RP'er @Qwert, his prize should've been mine who is as much of a nerd as I am; my customers, who made this all possible, and of course, that guy who left the bar unattended for two months allowing me to take over, @Ryccia!
Thanks to all!"

He then went down and sat again, taking a glass of champagne from some drunk dude sitting by, and eating the chocolate bunny from a gift bag he received from a lady with an elaborate dress. He was still unsure about what she meant by "pet llama" though.
