Motion of No Confidence
#91

Currently there's a lot of talking about releasing logs, a lot of talking about what's in the logs, but not a lot of actual releasing going on. It seems that, now at least, all Cabinet members are on board with releasing logs, so could this happen sooner rather than later?
Did some LC, MoRA, CRS stuff in the past. Do a lot of World Census stuff now.

Indeed. Today is a holiday, so I'm out with family, but I intend to get to this when the little one is in bed later.

Catch22 -- The more comes out about yalls infighting, the more infighting there is.

I think the point of this thread has run its course. Yall should be ashamed of yourselves, and step back and realize how crazy (and not in the good way) yall are being.

The whole point of the motion of no confidence is that there are problems that can’t be fixed. You’re seeing those problems. If you’re saying that the solution is to take a step back from the Cabinet, that’s pretty much what the motion does.

I ... don't understand what the point of releasing logs is? We're going down this rabbit hole of he said/she said/he said and ... for what?

I'm actually with Reb that I think this discussion has run its course. The next step is for legislators to think seriously about who they want to run and who they are willing to vote for in the next election.

If our current Cabinet runs again, that means asking them — individually, not collectively — why they would act differently in the next term.

For everyone else running, it's a matter of them having a plan to deal with this friction.

As we've established at the beginning of the thread, with the elections starting tomorrow, we don't have any actionable items here. But, this is something we need to sit on and think about rather than trying to find out who is "right."

I meant step back from from the situation. But stepping back from the Cabinet could and should also apply.

The ridiculousness is ridiculous. I'm not saying we all have to get along, but there is something called professionalism, and the lack of it here is disturbing. If you don't get along with someone, that's fine, but have some couth.

I concur with Rebs. Stop fighting, it is humiliating for people of your offices

I'd actually disagree that this debate needs to end now. We have some experienced and successful contributors to TSP who seem to now have major issues with each other. It seems that in the past term they've mostly tried to brush this under the carpet to ensure that the Cabinet continues to function, but the frustration has continued to build up which isn't healthy at all. This thread is an opportunity for them to air all of their grievances and just let it all out, which could be really helpful for the future. It's certainly more helpful than if they stopped talking about it and kept their frustrations pent up.

During this thread there have been conflicting reports over what is contained in the logs, and I think it would be useful for as much of these as possible to be released so we can form our own judgments, rather than choosing to believe someone directly involved in these arguments. An outsider's viewpoint may be what is needed to help piece together exactly what went wrong so we can prevent it from happening again.

All of you involved in this, with the exception of Somyrion, are acting like children to be quite frank.

@Tsu

I believe that the logs should be released because the Prime Minister is saying that there is such an unprofessional and toxic dynamic in the cabinet that there should be a vote of no confidence.

Everyone involved said that a lot of this dysfunction happened in private, government discords, that most of us do not have access to. Yet it's ultimately our jobs as legislatures to hold the cabinet accountable be it at the ballot or a vote of no confidence. We should have as complete picture as possible and I believe that starts with asking for a complete picture.

There are major contributors to this region that have their reputation on the line and I think to say 'case closed' and move on is doing them a great disservice.
