"I am happy that things are looking stable in this part of the world, and while the humble Peocracy do have our own reservations on how to manage the affairs concerning the faith of our people, we respect the decisions of his lordship."

The Peony sipped her tea, and continued, "One of the essential qualities of a leader is that he is able to secure continuous cooperation of the group. The Prophet achieved this both in Makkah and in Madinah. In Makkah the people were persecuted, yet their loyalty was retained. In Madinah, the hosts, Ansar were motivated to make great sacrifices by accommodating and looking after the newcomers, Muhajiroun as well as offering protection to the Prophet." she continued, "while each of us have their own reservations of those that have a much more modern take of the faith, there are always trouble-makers trying to create dissension in the ranks of our community. Whether it is due to undermining religious monopolies, complying to civil demands or harming the political agenda. Needless to say, group solidarity, is therefore, extremely important for Muslims in the face of these challenges. Similarly, mobilising resources to sustain the movement is another important task a leader must perform. Or in this case, leaders."

"It is therefore imperative that the relations remain cooperative between the nationstate and the muslim community, or the religious community as a whole. The political agenda of his lordship must take into account the repercussions it would have on the different aspects of the community, while the Imamship must deeply respect the decisions of the state and must allocate its available assets to fit the best agenda. The TSP Muslim World League shall be watching with great interest in hopes that tension shall constantly be followed by a win-win compromise."

The Peony then sipped for another cup, and glanced at Gianluca's reaction.

The Night at the palace was quite nice, she had no idea Gi-Land was this elating. A pity that she's here on duty, and could not explore this place as much.

She had remembered her mother, who was frankly more proactive than her in state visits. It was a great time that she spent, and Gianluca certainly being quite a gentleman.

She would've asked Gianluca to join her for tea tonight, if he's not there yet. Maybe she can make him a friend?

Imam Al-Jamja and the Gianlucian leader nodded politely to everything the Peony said, although the religious priest was at least trying to get the Huawanian counterpart of Gianluca to join his side in the discussion about how modern religion should act. After half an hour and another cup of tea the talks had to come to an end though.

"Thanks for the interesting insight, Mr. Al-Jamja", Gianluca responded cold as the only obvious sign to him, that the Leader understood his politics seem to get a little disliked here. "And thanks for the tea too. I think the honorable Peony enjoyed her stay and talks here also."
After a formal hand shake the two leaders left the mosque and made their way to some black cars, which brought them swiftly to the palace. The talks during the drive were trivial though, mostly how good the weather is and how nice this or that building is looking when the sun slowly starts to set.
Arriving at the palace Gianluca proposed the Peony to just relax a little in her accomodation inside the palace and that the butlers will probably bring something small to eat - some pretty good sandwiches - to her room, if needed. The real obligatory lunch wasn't planned until tomorrow. She kindly accepted the proposal, but a few hours later, the Leader suddenly got a text on his phone.

"Would you like to join me for some tea?"

He was taken aback a little, as he didn't expect to get granted the honour to meet the woman casually for a cup of tea outside the strict schedule of the state visit, but he was happy about this possibility and as colloquial as she asked him to join for tea, he responded via the text messenger:

"Sure. Is the tea in your room good enough or should I send someone to get us other tea? If so, what kind?"

"I have asked the chaperone to prepare another pot, two seconds please." Texted The Peony.

The Peony placed her phone down, wondering whether it is brazen to invite the Gi-Lanndian head of state to join her for tea. She knew that something is brewing outside her borders, and she needs an ally, someone that she can be honest with in a personal manner.

Perhaps it is naïve to expect that she can confide on the young King, but she would like to see if it was possible. She looks on her phone of the celebrations tonight as the streets of Gianlucastadt was crowded with Peonic fans of the FWC 2018. She looks the celebrations on Stream, and continued to smile.

With the smile, she noted that it would the Huawan's turn to host the event in 2019, and that would be an amazing amount of assets that's going to be spent. She decides to look at the other things in her device and saw some food on her phone.

She has not eaten dinner yet, and has asked for a couple of Gi-Lanndian confections to pair with the tea. In the meantime, looking at other confections really made her mouth water, and she bit her phone in hunger.

She continued to bite on her rubber bunny phone cover, biting on the rubber cover, a habit she obviously took from Diao Chan. As she continue to slide and bite on the rubber cover. She looked up, and saw Gianluca standing in front of her, visibly confused.

".....Guten Abend, Gianluca" greeted The Peony, a bit petrified.

The young man was standing there a little confused looking at this very private, almost intimate image of the other person biting into her phone's bunny ears. It looked kinda cute he had to admit and was pretty surprised to see such sides from a colleague once. Normally everyone tries to be all formal and ultra-polite and ultra-neat looking, but the Peony herself - the one, he always thought was the most "correct" one, sticking to protocols and stuff - is now the person sitting in front of him and looking almost vulnerable like a child.
He was sure, this wasn't intended and he knew what a strong woman she was, but still this contrast of knowing better and now being able to see a softer side of the doctor catched him a little off-guard.

"Hello", he answered. "May I sit down next to you?", he formally asked and after getting a sign to be allowed to sit next to his guest, they both waited on the couch for the confections and tea to arrive. "I'm sorry for any inconveniences, milady. I'm sure the things you ordered will arrive soon", he apologised with his soft hazel eyes and a reassuring smile.

"I have to say: I wouldn't have thought the Peocracy was so poor that you need to eat your rubber phone cover", he said in a very teasing tone and giggled a little, hoping she'd understand this was all a joke. In that moment the chaperone arrived and brought a new pot of tea - black tea as it seems.
Black tea at such a time? It seems his guest wants to have quite a long talk tonight still.
Also some cookies were brought, but those were pretty bland. Some tasted just a little sweet, some a bit sweeter, because sugar is on top and some a bit like chocolate, due to a very, very small amount of chocolate inside the dough. Together with the tea, they were still an enjoyable experience though.
After an additional three minutes of waiting, he poured into his and his guest's cup some tea and placed the pot down onto the coffee table in front of them again.

"Cheers", he said, before taking a very cautious nip on the way too hot tea. After setting down the cup again, he asked in a very friendly, unformal way: "So...What's the problem?"

*Coughs* "Well Gianluca." Said Doctor Yan as she straightened her legs to the ground and fixed her hair. Trying to keep her composure and trying to not blush.

"I guess you could stop being so tense, I may hold the empress chair, but in here I have relegated myself of my status as your friend. International affairs are full of agendas for the prosperity of their kin, it would be harsh and naive to see if there is room for friendship."

The Peony drank another cup of her tea, freshly poured, she looked at the leaves inside the cup, and the ripples of her cup reflected her face of melancholy.

"Trust is not something that I give easily, I've been hurt too much for it. My short term in office has evidently proven to me of both the lucrative benefits and the fallacies of it. It has made me both willing and unwilling of it, that I can only trust just a small group of people." Said The Peony, "this position of mine, as the Nuwang, was something that I was not supposed to take in the first place. I was forced to office, and started it confused and depressed. How would you not?"

The Peony drunk once more, not sure why she said this to Gianluca.

"You were going to lead the general hospital of Huawan with none of the royal burden ever forced into you, and then your brother, your grandmother, your grandfather and your mother all passed away within the span of 6 months. Your sister, who was in line for the throne, stood and left you. Forcing the youngest child to become the monarch without any preparation whatsoever. I never had royal training or etiquette training like my siblings, I was allowed to sit and relax as my siblings bathed in the royal spotlight. I was not needed, and moreso was ignored by those up top. Now I'm in the position, everyone is suddenly my friend, and everyone wanted me to become my mother, my grandmother."

The Peony then looked at Gianluca with melancholy, seeing him quite attentive to her rambling.

"I spent all the nights of my first year regretting my decision, until it has come to me that this has now become my fate. Yet I fear for the future of this country, its monarch trying to hold everything together and expected to prepare to continue the ancestral line. As if it was such a menial task."

The Peony ate a cookie and finished her cup, before setting it down on the table. She looked at Gianluca, and prepares to hear an answer.

He tilted his head in an apologetic way as he gets reminded he's going too tense into the situation, but then just listens to the young woman in front of him. He forgets for a moment in what position she is in and he saw her more like....
Was he already looking at her as a friend? They sent symbolic gifts to each other after having set up a trade agreement and they surely talked with one another before a little- but in a cold manner. And suddenly this woman opens up and makes herself vulnerable, but also puts herself down to earth. Everything's believable, it doesn't seem like some kind of tactics to get him to say "Yes" more easily to anything.
But was he looking at her as a friend or was he looking at her more like at a Gianlucian citizen at the moment that tells him about their problems?

He wasn't sure and this scared him. He doesn't want to look down upon anyone, he didn't want to lose that distant kind of respect he got for the Nuwang, but he also didn't want to destroy a possible friendship they seem to have or seem to start off at the moment.

He nods every now and then to what Yan said and when she was finished, he was answering:

"You're correct. You can't trust everyone and need to build up a conglomerate of friends and people giving you advantages for sure. But isn't e.g. your Foreign Minister a good friend of yours? She can help you at any time finding the right people, with the right heart and mindset. As for not wanting this position - you could've resigned of course, but you didn't. You are a strong woman, that, I think, knows deep down what's best for her people and for herself. Maybe this is why you pushed yourself to fulfill this task of being the Nuwang instead of just doing it like your sister and passing the title on to another successor of the throne.
And while you were never taught about the protocol, you don't make it seem like you hadn't. At least here in GI-Land many people look at Huawan as one of the countries, where traditions still have a high standing in the country and you give those traditions a face. A face the Gianlucian people and of course also yours and many others worldwide like to see on TV or live. Also it's good to maybe not stick to the traditions sometimes and be a young leader.

I was put on the throne on my 7th birthday. Of course I had people including my father, the king before me, on my side that led me on a little. But being young also means: Seeing the world differently, seeing future problems sooner, being able to attack them sooner - also in unconventional ways. You can do that. If I may say it this way: You can sometimes just fuck on the protocol. Just do it, if you see it fit."

He leans forward a little before continuing: "Politics are a tough field. Every side is expecting you to do this or that, but you only know for yourself, what YOU want to do. One of the most important things in politics is to somehow balance the relation between being down-to-earth enough and keep touch to the people's needs, but at the same time knowing not all wishes of them or your staff are equally important. What is important for you? What are the real problems of our time? Those two questions should decide how you act politically. When you do that, you don't need to fear the future of your country anymore, you can embrace it, because YOU shaped it. And the people seeing your ideas work, will pledge their support to you, leading to the needed cohesion inside the country."

He takes a little sip of the tea, while casually ending with the personal part of his answer: "And as for finding a husband or a wife - in whatever direction you lean to: Don't worry about it. They'll come along your way and your guts will tell you, who's the right one. It can happen and will happen so suddenly and then the question about having a successor won't be as much of a burden on your mind anymore too*. Adopting a child or bearing one yourself is an easier decision when you're two people."

He needs to chuckle a little about the last sentence he said, because he doesn't know if it sounded stupid or not, but otherwise he looks curiously at his counterpart to see, if he found at least some right words.

The Peony looked at the Konig. He is neither of age when many would thought should be full of wisdom, and being her junior, The Peony was certainly impressed at her counterpart.

She looked at him in melancholy, and looked back at the tea that floats in her cup. A leaf that floats in the pool of warm and comfortable water, reflecting the moonlight. There will be times when she could not sit comfortably as tensions rise, and every decision will always have naysayers. The Peony must prepare for an upcoming future, and decisions she knew she might regret.

But her decision must take account one thing, the good of her people and their principles. It would be difficult being accountable, but The Peony of Huawan must be ready.

She looks at Gianluca, and smiled. A nice and hearty smile to someone she can trust, at least, for now.

"谢谢." As she nodded with respect. She poured another cup of tea to him, and talked about many other things, interesitng but not noteworthy.

The Peony looked outside the palace, with bags in tow. Scheduled to fly back to Lian, impressed with the city and its people. She wonders when could be the next time she could visit again, it will be soon, especially with both countries sharing responsibility of the next championships.

She sat on the windowsill and enjoyed the cold breeze, waiting for her security detail to finally complete the arrangements. She enjoyed the voices of birds and sirens wailing away from the far reaches of the palace. A knock on the door broke her focus.

"Enter."

The door opened, it was Sebastian Lister, her close security detail under Rin, and someone that tried to court her. Sebastian looked at his employer sitting in melancholy on the windowsill, and his heart skipped a beat. The Peony did not recognize him at first, but when her elation broke, she recognized his presence.

"Good morning, mister Lister."

"My Peony, preparations are complete, we are ready to leave."

".....Yes, we shall. Do you have the documents I requested?"

"Yes, they are available for you in the car." Answered Sebastian Lister, trying to hide his blush, "on your orders, my Nuwang."

"Attend me."
Said The Peony, as she got down from the windowsill. She then went in front of Sebastian and took his hand to uncover his already red face.

"You must not cover your face when you speak to a person, mister Lister." Said The Nuwang, as she tilted her head and smiled, "let us go home."

Sebastian prepared to escort as The Peony looked at the box placed on her table, its contents, a yellow silk scarf and a Mei Li jade muslim prayer beads, exactly 33 beads. A small gift compared to Gianluca's hospitality.

She walked towards the door, to the other side, and closed it.
