IC- FiHami Rising

(05-24-2019, 08:41 PM)GI-Land Wrote: Dear Empress,

welcome on the international stage!
GI-Land would be open for talks, but not until the volcanic situation in FiHami hasn't calmed down. As a first step we would like to propose to your nation to open the possibility for us to have an embassy in your country. How and when there's a possibility to talk about certain topics, we could discuss in the near future hopefully.

Best wishes,

Marja Sanddorn
Minister of Foreign Affairs

To the Minister of Foreign Affairs of GI-land,

Your letter has been noted and stored as high priority for when the Empress is found.

As High Priestess for the Finixians, it is my duty to wish the Great Phoenix guides your paths and allows our nations to partake of the gift of friendship.

Sincerely,

The Honorable High Priestess Shi'Huah

The young Empress once again sat down once again at her desk, this time with several guards keeping watch in and out of her office.

To the dear people who responded to my previous invitation:

Thank you for your considerations. I would like to cordially invite you to Huah-Huah City Gardens in order to discuss things over tea perhaps Tuesday. We are in the midst of a great annual traditional celebration and I also would extend invitation to join us for our celebration for the night. I look forward to the conversations! May the Great Phoenix bestow blessings upon you.

Signed,
Empress Finix the Unknown

In the letters, Finix enclosed bright orange and yellow Hibiscus flowers, sealed the letters, then sent them off.

Empress Phoenix the Unknown
FiHami

The Commonwealth of Rebeltopia again would be honored to visit and start a diplomatic relationship with FiHami, though I am still worried about the current activities within your state. If you can guarantee that all foreign diplomats will be safe within your borders, then we can attend.
If there is anything that you would like to discuss before our personal meetings, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Signed,

Kathryn O'Connor
Councilor of the Exterior
The Commonwealth of Rebeltopia

Honorable Empress,

Assalam,

I am grateful to be invited once more to your meeting, and I would certainly wish to finally meet you.

However, noting that tuesday is the start of Eid Al Fitr, one of the most important days in the Peocracy, as well as one that held such spiritual importance to me and most of my delegates. I would like to sincerely apologize that I am unable to come to your party.

Nevertheless, I realized the critical importance of our meet. If possible, I would like to invite you to a cafe in Government Island. Cafe Sonata, in the 23rd of June. Perhaps then we can discuss further interests.

With this letter is a silk scarf and a selection of my finest tea. Along with the koran, one that I present to honorable friends of the Peocracy. Thank you for your understanding.

Wassalam,

Warmest Regards,

The Peony of Huawan

Worthy Empress,

I am honored to have received your invitation to your home.  With the recent tensions in the world, it is wise to extend a hand of friendship to others around the world.  Despite the horrors of the past, word of your efforts to bring FiHami down the path of progress and peace has reached my people, and we are touched beyond measure to witness such bravery.

As such, I would be happy to meet with you in your home country to reciprocate the friendship between our nations, as well as provide any aid and guidance you deem necessary in the wake of the recent eruption.

Gods grant you peace,

Hestia V Drakar

Honorable Empress Hestia V of Pax Dracon,

I look forward to meeting you and properly thanking you for your kind words. I have enclosed a security pass so all you and those you bring with you have to do when you arrive is show the pass to the customs agents and then the guards when entering Ha'Hani City Hall. They should leave you alone after showing the pass. As for the path to take to make it to FiHami I would advise staying away from the West coast entirely. We are constructing an airport however, so future visits won't have to be by ship. The only open port we have at the moment is Tikiri'i.

FiHami SFA 2019 and PEA 2019 Presentation and Vote
(OOC- Gonna be a series of posts highlighting arguements and stuff throughout the day)

FiHami members of parliament began streaming in the meeting hall. They filed in expectantly, sitting down and chatting with each other until, at last, a short, stiff man with lighter skin made his way to the podium. People hushed down, followed by a petite, bronze-skinned girl wearing traditional chieftain wear.
The man glared briefly at the young woman before clearing his throat.

"Welcome to this session. I am Parliamentary Speaker Benjamin Owens, and next to me is Finix. I declare this session open." He said, turning to Finix, who stood calmly, seemingly oblivious to Owens' deep disrespect. "Finix, if you would talk about these bills?" The translator, a tall woman standing to the side, grabbed her microphone and translated what Owens had said into Finixi. The chief of FiHami stepped forward, beginning to speak, while the translator translated her words into Austral.

"Hello. I am Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi. Thank you for your attendance. Before I read the Solar FiHami Act out, I would like to briefly mention the tragedy that occured yesterday in Rosei Hani. We know that two life-long friends became enemies in one minute in regards to their positions on political issues and such, and had begun fighting over something so trivial. Outside of FiHami, we are seeing many conflicts that have turned needlessly violent. We are seeing long-time friends turn against each other for the same reasons. I would like to take this time to say, for everyone who is here or watching the livestream, we may differ in what we would like to see in FiHami and worldwide, but let us remind ourselves that we all share Pacifica with each other, and should make our utmost efforts to listen to each other and debate respectfully over these issues."

When Finix finished, she picked up a piece of paper and read it out.

"The Solar FiHami Act of 2019 aims to provide a few key changes in FiHami law by, one, Eliminating fossil fuel use and its industries by 2022, two, creating a new faction called "FiHami Department of Green Energy" that henceforth shall be known as the FHDGE as well as the "FiHami Department of Research that henceforth shall be known as the FHDR, and three, diverting funds from the FHDT and FHDE in order to support this goal."

Benjamin Owens interrupted the reading of the bill with a hand.

"I would like to open the floor to debate the principle of the introduction of this bill. I will start out by pointing out that, if this bill passed into law, FiHami would lose millions of Flamethrowers in implementing this. The long-term effect on the economy would be atrocious as well."

"Detailed later on in the bill is a process on how to reduce as much damage to FiHami's economy and ecology during the transition. Additionally, the potential money in green energy, if we could allow it to develop, has much more potential for the economy, so in the long run, we should be able to see the economy boosted much further than before, and maybe even put us on the map as an important country for our knowledge on clean energy and renewable resources." Hubert Garrod of the Siens Parti spoke up. He sat back down when he finished. Owens sighed, waving his hand.

"Allow us to take a 15 minute break this session to discuss this further when we return."

3 hours after the session resumed, the entire hall was silently listening to the rest of the bill, read by Finix.

"... Now that the bill has been called into motion, I would like to ask that Upper Parliament steps forth and present their vote now, beginning alphabetically. Kaden Arnold, Siens party?"

A small, nervous-looking white man stood up. He made his way down to the front, dropping a slip of paper into Finix' hands, and quickly made his way back to his seat.

"Cathy Bernard, Ekoloki?"

An older looking woman stood up, doing the same thing as the previous man had.

"Benedict Dickenson, Ekoloki?"

1 by 1, 20 different people made their way to the front, ending with Kekepania Puanani of Finixli-O party, who tripped on her way back to the seat.

Finix then counted the votes carefully, announcing each vote carefully.

"In total, we have recieved fourteen votes for, and 6 votes against. This means that the bill has passed with the required Upper Parliament majority, and will be signed into law within the next 72 hours." Finix promised, setting the first paper aside. "Now, this next session will not come to vote because after what happened abroad in Huawan, I do not wish for any more repeats of this incident. I will read it out now and this time will be used to explain the bill and make any changes that would be necessary to ensure that it isn't ignored or corrupt."

The room grew quiet enough to hear a pin drop when Owens took the microphone from Finix.

"Your proposed bill will only cause issues for the entire country, nevermind the gross abuse of power you're using and the extremely isolated event you're using to justify this." Owens began. "The chiefdom is obsolete these days and ages, and especially dangerous when an uneducated child has unlimited power. With parliament in place, there is no need for a chief. You didn't even wish to take this position in the first place. I hereby wish to bring to vote the notion to remove all power from the chiefdom."

Finix stood to face Owens with brief anger replaced by dangerous serenity. Owens himself shuffled his feet nervously backwards.

"As you wish, speaker Owens. I hereby absolve myself of any responsibility related to my position I've adopted and trust that you will do a much better job at it than I ever had. Feel free to scrap my bill. I will not be available to help you any further in anything. Good luck, Ha'Coron' Benjamin Owens."

Finix removed her headdress and handed it to Benjamin before walking out of the building. Benjamin stared blankly at the door for a few seconds before turning to the rest of parliament.

"I declare this session over until Ha'Coron' Finix is back."

The Government of FiHami would like to announce

In an effort to increase transparency between the people of FiHami and it's government, the Government would like to announce that it will now maintain an open website in the very near future, with all updates about national happenings.  The website will be posted very soon.
