Ha'Coron' Puani Talks Antarchi Threat, Changes to Laws
By Kiki of tribe Kilaweioni

HA'HANI Earlier today, Ha'Coron' Puani of tribe Kokostali had announced a new order: all members of the five major tribes in FiHami would go to use the Finixi naming convention.  She also made a few updates about the Antarchi threat.

"A few nights ago, Finix and I were going to meet up with a spy who had been  helping us with the Antarchi.  However, the correspondent turned out to be an Antarchi man, and attacked.  I fetched law enforcement, who came out and arrested the guy before he could kill Finix.  He is being held for trial as we speak.  Finix is OK, she is recovering.  In the meantime, I have taken the liberty to enact some changes that Finix had wanted to pass through Parliament.  I am also taking the initiative to try to engage some peace talks with the Antarchi, perhaps reach a place of understanding."  Ha'Coron' Puani said in a statement to the Ha'Hani Times Post.

However, many citizens didn't share the same sentiments, protesting the calls for peace talks.

"These monsters killed so many, and now Puani wants to try to speak peace into these demons?"  Says one citizen who wished to remain anonymous.  "Does she know what these sorry excuses for people have done?"

Ha'Coron' Puani has called for an emergency Parliament meeting for Monday evening.

Ha'Coron' Finix of tribe Fi'Shi Pronounced Dead
By Kiki of tribe Kilaweioni

HA'HANI This morning, at 11:03, Finix of tribe Fi'Shi has been pronounced dead.  She was 17 years old.

Three days ago, January 9th, Ha'Coron' Finix and Puani were along the shores of the Tikiri'i River around 22:00, when a strange man assaulted the pair.  Ha'Coron' Puani ran for help, leaving Ha'Coron' Finix fighting for her life.  Officials arrived on the scene by 22:15, where Law Enforcement brought the assailant under arrest.  An ambulance escorted ki Ha'Coron' to the Hospital of Ha'Hani, where she reportedly passed quietly between 10:30 and 11:00 January 12th.

She leaves behind her adopted mother, Eti Nanakupe, and mate Sikupa Krasat'shi.

Finix was born June 21st, 2002 in the Sami Village.  She was the only survivor of the Sami Village raid, and was reportedly the only person registered in the Database of Finixi Tribes under tribe Fi'Shi in 2019's Census.  Not much is known about her early life.  She was taken from an Antarchi orphanage in 2010.  Early 2018, Ha'Finix had annointed her as Ha'Coron' while on a messenger mission.  She led the Hani Uprising at that point, establishing the nation known as FiHami January 2019.

The nation will be in mourning until January 19th.  Thursday's football game will be postponed to Monday the 20th.

3 Dead, Several Injured From Shooting At Hospital of Ha'Hani
By Carly Jones

HA'HANI This morning ended up tragically for families waiting for their loved ones to recover which resulted in the deaths of 3 patients.

At 6:45, 3 Antarchi men showed up at the hospital, checking in and making their way to the 2nd floor, where they revealed their guns and began firing on patients.

However, the group of men didn't get far in their plans, thanks to a patient who wished to remain anonymous. The 3 men were quickly contained before Law Enforcement arrived on the scene.

Some patients believed they saw the spirit of the late Finix of tribe Fi'Shi on the scene, even claiming that the spirit saved their lives.

"I had been shot, I was in tremendous pain... then I saw her. I thought I was going to die, and ki Ha'Coron' was escorting me to the skies." Tania Benson, one of the doctors on duty at the time, told reporters on the scene.

Several other patients have told similar testimonies, but no concrete evidence has been uncovered at this time.

Families with patients in the hospital are being asked to refrain from visiting while patients are transferred to the military trauma center, located in Ha'Hani's North side, away from current Antarchi occupation.

"Interesting" Candidate Announces Attempt To Run For Parliamentary Speaker Later This Year
By Liz Nixia

FRIXI Last year saw the start of FiHami's political parties. This year, however, marks the first year a candidate will run as an independant.

Meet Texeteti' of tribe Kilaweioni. Born on August 2nd, 1976, and raised in what is now Tikiri'i, FiHami, and now currently lives in Ha'Hani. He is known as being an "eccentric" man by his neighbors, having been arrested 3 times within the past year for various unusual offenses, including setting his house on fire to "stop the Valkyrians from eating his lunch", sitting in the middle of an intersection to use the bathroom, and more.

"FiHami, I come to you today to talk about those [redacted] Valkyrians stealing our nations' food! They're filthy thieves! Oh, and while we're at it, free drugs and alcohol for everyone! And, maybe I'll put a stop to school too, who needs school?" Texeteti' shouted loudly from the roof of a bookstore before Law Enforcement escorted him away.

The candidate already has support from Ha'Coron' Puani, who reportedly said that she would "love to see what this man does if elected."

Parliament Elections 2020: What You Need To Know
By Dr. Jayden Lee, Ph.D in Political Science

It is January, and several candidates have already come forward and announced their intentions to run for office. Ha'Coron' Finix has authorized a change in how Parliament will be structured for the next year and onwards, which could affect various things. I sat down with ki Ha'Coron' to talk about these changes and certain things in the future.

To summarize, Parliament's seats will be expanded to roughly include 1 representative per 100 people, with elections every five years. There will be a special meeting when elections pass to discuss and finish drafting a constitution.

Maximum Security Prison Liberated
By Jordan Lopez

HA'HANI Yesterday, hundreds of the extremist Antarchi soldiers captured following the conclusion of the FiHami-Antarchi conflict were released from the maximum-security prison.

The perpetrators of this liberation force appeared to be the Reizen Independance Movement, who are caught in their own civil war in the Frost Empire. The reason for this liberation force is as of yet unknown.

Ha'Coron' Finix has reportedly said that, "The RIM should know that if you play with fire, you will get burned. There will be repurcussions!"

it is unknown if FiHami will lend support to the Frost Empire to help the war effort or attempt to continue to stay out of the conflict.

HA'CORON' FINIX RESPONDS WITH FIRE TO THE MATRIARCHY
By Kristin Exena
HA'HANI After the recent protest where Matriarchy Fundamentalists rushed a crowd of Men's Rights Activists resulting in the deaths of 5 men and 3 women, Ha'Coron' Finix has made her way to the spotlight in an address to the general public earlier today.

"We cannot ever forget the lives of the 5 men and 3 women who were killed during the protests."  Ki Ha'Coron' began.

"All I can say is, that those 5 men and 3 women will not have died in vain.  If I may say this on behalf of those who died, WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY!  WE WILL NOT LET OPRESSION WEIGH US DOWN ANYMORE!  WE WILL STAND AS BOTH MAN AND WOMAN, UNITED AS FIHAMI CITIZENS!"

The chief's speech was very well received among Men's Rights Activists, who have taken to the internet to rally behind the final words spoken by Finix.

The full transcript of the speech can be found here:
"It pains me to see my siblings fighting like this, when we are all human.  We are all FiHami, we are all men, we are all women.  We are one.  Yet, we have the Matriarchy Fundamentalists barring men from pursuing their dreams.  Some Finixi men wish to become doctors.  Some wish to become leaders.  Yet, the University of Ha'Hani is doing their best to make sure men can't do that.  My mate, one of the 5 men killed, actually, was hoping to study in the next year to take his fishing business much higher.  I have spoken to many others who were hoping to study sciences, or maths, or even become politicians.  We go from being oppressed by the Antarchi, to our own women oppressing our men."  Finix told the Ha'Hani Times Post following her address.

Matriarchy Fundamentalists have resorted to slandering the Chief of FiHami, calling her a "pathetic excuse for a woman", because she "is just as dumb and violent as any man."  Even certain members of FiHami's parliament have joined in, and 4 going as far as to say that they are Matriarchy Fundamentalists.

The Men's Rights movement already has planned their next protest on Sunday, March 1st.

The Race for Parliamentary Speaker: Leaders of Each Party Selected
By Ainslee Gomez
[Image: agNq0lC.png]
Image (from Left to Right): Kaitlin Darcy (PLP), Kilaui Kuri (FIP), Texeteti' Kilaweioni (I), Tufexe'i Kilaweioni (FOP), Daniel Green (EP), and Dr. Barbara Johnson (SP) in a press photo in front of the Capital Building in Ha'Hani, FiHami

FIHAMI Each of FiHami's 5 current political parties have selected a candidate to represent them in this year's Parliamentary Speaker election.  Despite being against Ha'Coron' Finix' orders, Kilaui Kuri will be running for re-election, as the candidate from the Finixli-I Parti.  Texeteti', whose Stream posts all point to an intense hatred to all countries, targeting Valkyria most often, has announced that he will be running Independantly.

"GI-Land has mind controlled Finixli-O Parti, Valkyria has mind controlled Finixli-I, Bruuma has mind controlled Politika Lipera Parti, Huawan has mind controlled the Siens Parti, and Eggraria has mind controlled the Ekoloki Parti.  The only choice to break FiHami out of the mind control is to run independantly!"  Texeteti' posted on Stream following his announcement of Intent to Run.

Kilaui Kuri, who narrowly lost to Benjamin Owens in FiHami's first elections, beat out fellow FIP members Carson Dorei and Mari Kurikuri for the FIP nomination.  In the middle of the first term, Kuri couped the Parliament and took over as Parliamentary Speaker.

"I honestly believed in the Email scandal, that's the only reason I couped."  Kuri told the Ha'Hani Times Post.  "But this time, I want to lead FiHami fair and square, without coups.  I want to serve the people the best I can."

Meanwhile, Veteran warrior Tufexe'i Kilaweioni has been selected unanimously to lead the Finixli-O Parti.  He had announced that he would organize the military and provide more funding for defense.  Kilaweioni has declined further comment for now.

For the Ekoloki Parti, Frontrunner Daniel Green sits at the forefront.  He has historically proposed several pieces of legislation in FiHami's parliament as the sole representative in FiHami's Lower Parliament, but was quickly shot down by members of the Finixli-O Parti, for the product of one of the "forced marriages" committed by Antarchans from 1978-1992, as well for having a "large head".

"I will ensure that Parliament runs smoothly under my command.  I will specifically promote healthy legislation that targets FiHami's abysmal healthcare status, and ensure that the strides taken by the Chief of FiHami herself in conservation are met with equal fervor."  Green told the Ha'Hani Times Post.

The Siens Parti has chosen Dr. Barbara Johnson as their frontrunner.  Johnson is an ex-professor of Chemistry at the University of Ha'Hani, having researched organic chemistry and nanotechnology for over 25 years, and has a reputation among university students as "The Dictator" for her strict demeanor and teaching style.

"The state of FiHami's education system is atrocious, and I believe that this upcoming partnership with Antarcha is a terrible idea.  I am disappointed in how  this young country is being run so far, and I plan to make sure we don't crash and burn."  She said, after correcting a reporter for his "atrocious posture".

And representing the Politika Lipera Parti, Kaitlin Darcy has stepped up.  She has stated on her campaign page that she plans to bring socialized healthcare to FiHami, as well as making key industries public rather than private.  When asked for comment, Darcy berated the reporter for being "the typical capitalist scum" and proceeded to "educate" the reporters on the proven benefits of socialism.

Campaigning and debates will run until November, where voting will commence on November 1.  The winner will be announced on November 12th.

HA'CORON' FINIX FI'SHI TALKS GLOBAL CLIMATE CRISIS
By Esefi Mamatu
HUAH-HUAH I spent the morning today with FiHami's favorite person, Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi, who treated me to breakfast in her humble hut.  We talk life, FiHami, Prime Minister campaigns, and climate change on this issue of the Ha'Hani Times Post.

MAMATU: Thank you for having me, ki Ha'Coron.  It is to my understanding that you do not like visitors.
FI'SHI: I prefer my quiet space, you are right.

It is at this moment that Finix motions for me to sit in the middle of the hut, by a small table and woven blankets.  She brings a kettle of tea, two tea cups, and a large stack of berries.

FI'SHI: Now, I understand you wanted to talk about something.

MAMATU: Yes, first, though, how are you?  2020 seems to have been a really rough year for you so far.
FI'SHI: I did lose my adoptive mother and my mate, I fell ill to one of the common diseases in FiHami that was mistaken for GID-20, I had been attacked, I sat on death's doorstep for a while-

MAMATU: But wasn't that a fabrication?
FI'SHI: There was some truth to it.  I supposedly did die... for a few seconds.  But it was enough of a scare that Toa'a [Kaio, Minister of Defense] thought it would be a good idea to fabricate my death so that we could perform a stealth operation with me at the helm.  Unfortunately, that was ruined by a certain Chief of FiHami whose brains are probably smaller than my left pupil.

MAMATU: Oh, I see.
FI'SHI: This year has been fairly rough, but I am confident that things will look up eventually.

MAMATU: What made you want to live out here, anyways?  May I take a picture of your abode for the Ha'Hani Times Post?
FI'SHI: Sure, just don't give the location out.  As for what made me want to live here?  Well, after my adoptive mother was killed, my mate and I did continue to live there.  I knew he wasn't really like me, he liked having a roof and modern conveniences.  The place also made it easier to try to knock some sense into a certain FiHami Chief too, because there was an office.  But, when my mate was killed in the Men's Rights march, I really couldn't bear to stay in the house any longer, so I gave up trying to teach a certain FiHami Chief basic thinking skills, and sold the home, and gave the money to a large family who needed that money.  I built this hut right here and have been living here ever since.

MAMATU: How long did it take to build?
FI'SHI: Well, it took way longer than I'd like to admit.  I've been very busy since March, you know.

MAMATU: Impressive, honestly.  Now, you mentioned that your mate... Sikupa Krasat'shi?  He was killed in the Men's Rights marches.  Many people have been killed from these protests and acts of terrorism lately, what do you have to say about that?
FI'SHI: Yes, that was his name.  I am a very strong believer in the inherent right of people to live freely.  I believe that all people: men, women, Antarchi, Finixi- I believe they all have a right to live, I believe that they are all equal.  That is why these marches, these protests, they are all fairly confusing to me.  Why do we have to fight for the rights that we all inherently have?  Why are people being killed for standing up to these rights?

MAMATU:  The Matriarchy Fundamentalists have been standing up to your equality rhetoric, and have even been saying some fairly mean things.  Now, you have absolute power, you can order these people to death.  Why don't you?
FI'SHI: The Aftermath of the Finixi-Antarchi war left me sorta-kinda shook and I really don't want to bring more people to death by my own hands any longer.

MAMATU: Now, quick off-topic question, one that many people would love to know.  What is your exact kill count?  Do you keep track of it?
FI'SHI: My hands have killed many, I suspect thousands.  Definitely at least a thousand since the beginning of my involvement in the Hani Uprising.  What specifically are the Matriarchi Fundamentalists saying about me, anyways?  I choose not to pay attention to that stuff.

MAMATU: Well, if we look here, we will see this HaniWeb post, from RisRas100, that says, "Finix dares try to speak about peace and freedom when she is nothing but a sorry excuse for a man."  This next post, from AisaniFri, reads "Finix was a leader for a time, a strong, valliant lady who, despite looking and acting like a man, put Antarchi men in their place.  Now, he is just a short, thin man who reacts too cold and violently to the first sign of opposition."  And, this last post I'll show you is an image of you, and an unnamed Finixi soldier from the early 1900's, with the caption "Spot the Difference".  [For the audience, the Finixi Battalion was a coalition of Finixi men who tried to rebel against the Antarchi and found themselves in camps, where they were forced to mine until they starved to death.]
FI'SHI: Well that's not very nice now.

MAMATU: Well, to change the subject now... what are your opinions on the campaigns for Prime Minister?
FI'SHI: Two candidates I have told not to run are still running.  The others don't seem to have much popular support at all, and have run on very, very narrow campaigns.  I would have liked to see Benjamin Owens run for something, but he's understandably taking time away from politics.  Ben was a good speaker, and a good friend of mine, despite the hiccup that we had towards the end of his term with my proposed travel law.

MAMATU: Out of everyone there, who would you most like to vote for?
FI'SHI: Kilaui Kuri.  Despite her campaign technically being illegal, I hate to admit that she's the best we've got this time around.

MAMATU: Texeteti' is leading the popularity polls so far.
FI'SHI: Thanks, I hate it.

MAMATU: One last thing I would like to discuss with you before we go to Huah-Huah and talk some more about climate change things, you've become quite an internet sensation, your stream posts garner an average of 50k approvals on Stream.  That's five times the population of FiHami!
FI'SHI: Heh, I do suppose my posts have become fairly popular.

MAMATU: Your most-liked post is sitting at about 100k approvals, it is a silhouette image of you with the Skyaki ki Fi'Shi.
FI'SHI: Well, of course.  That one was a professional photograph of me with that sword.  Mind you, it was heavy.  My arm was aching just trying to hold it!  But that sword had a lot of history, and I am glad I got to wield it once before it was put to rest in the museum permanently, as part of FiHami's history.

For reference, the post in question is here:
[Image: vBrMhPh.jpg] Finix Fi'Shi

Today has been a very eventful day!  Went to the FiHami Museum of Art and History in Huah-Huah, and got to hold the historic Skyaki ki Fi'Shi, which had just recently been unearthed!  The sword was estimated to have been crafted at around 8 B.C.E., around the time that Fi Onixia was fighting to unite the 5 major Finixi tribes!  The director thought it would only be appropriate to allow me to take a picture atop of Ateli ki Huah-Huah and perform the ancient Skyaki-Turantan ki Ha'Coron' while the sun set before the sword will be put on display, leading to this image right here.

Also, I finally decided to add a profile picture.  I'm too lazy to take another selfie, so have some picture used on a Ha'Hani Times Post article last year.  Sometimes press photos actually come out better than anything you could take!

MAMATU: Were you expecting to get such overwhelming approvals from FiHami and abroad?
FI'SHI: No, I never thought I'd break 10k posts, let alone 100k!  But I'm glad to see that FiHami's tribal history sees such interest from home and afar.

At this point, I invited ki Ha'Coron' to go to Huah-Huah shores and discuss the impending cyclone season and climate change.  We spoke off-the-record.

MAMATU: So, now that we are here, please speak.  For the record, I will photograph you for the eventual report that will come of this whole interview, if that is ok with you.
FI'SHI: Of course.  Now, this cyclone season is set to officially begin tomorrow.  The meteorologists at ki Unifersita ki Ha'Hani have said that they believe that this storm season will end up fairly more severe than average, and they expect at least 4 major storms.  We have seen this trend lately, thanks to the increasingly-severe effects we are having on the environment.  Because of the rise in temperature of our oceans, ice in the Keylian continent are seeing astounding ice melt, which is raising the sea level globally.  The temperature rise is also killing off FiHami's oceanic ecosystem.  Reefs are dying off at an astounding rate, which means that we have an increase in fish death, which means less food for us and for the other creatures that rely on the fish caught in our coasts.

MAMATU: And why is this so important to the average FiHami citizen?
FI'SHI: We will all lose this island that we call home.  We will be forced to move our belongings.  The rising sea temperatures means we will continue to see stronger storms, more storms, and more damage to the areas that we call home.  This is very alarming news, and is the reason I wanted an interview to begin with.  Because this is an issue that keeps getting swept under the rug by ourselves and other countries, and it is time we take a stance against man-made climate change, which will kill this planet if we don't do something, now.

MAMATU: This is a really drastic message...
FI'SHI: I had been studying this for a little while know, and have learned interesting things.  If you don't know about it despite your supposed education, I would recommend going back to school for a refresher course.

MAMATU: Ouch.
FI'SHI: But you see why my message is so urgent?  We are especially in danger of becoming a sandbar in the middle of the ocean if we don't act now.

MAMATU:  I understand.  This has been an interview with the Ha'Hani Times Post and Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'SHi, and thank you for reading!

[Editor's note: Ki Ha'Coron continued to speak about climate change and the impact on FiHami, but that portion of the interview was edited out.]
