It isn't a fictional drink. SPIT actually exists and has been tasted by some South Pacificans.

Gameside resolved this over years ago after the ratification of SPaRTA, the South Pacific Regional Trade Agreement to normalize the production and trade of South Pacific Iced Tea in the South Pacific, which put an end to the horrific SPIT wars of 2017.

Dec 11, 2017:
In accordance with Article III, point 1, [Image: aumeltopia__323814t2.png]Aumeltopia and [Image: volaworand__76954t2.jpg]Volaworand have formed the joint SPIT Commission and have negotiated minimum safety, production and distribution standards of SPIT. Should any nation wish to submit feedback to the joint SPIT Commission please contact Aumeltopia or Volaworand.
Aumeltopia has agreed to the proposal of Volaworand for minimal standards for SPIT:

To be designated genuine South Pacific Iced Tea, a drink must meet three minimum requirements:
1) a plant base indigenous to the South Pacific Region (coconut, guava, noni, orange, passionfruit, banana, grape, pineapple, apple, pear, plum, berries, cucumber, cranberry, strawberry, papaya, melon, guava, cassava, starfruit, breadfruit, soursop or guanabana, grapefruit, mango, kiwi, lemon, lime, agave or aloe). Nations may petition the SPIT commission for approval of additional ingredients.
2) served cold, with ice cubes, ice "slush" or ice cream. Warm or Hot drinks are ineligible for an "Iced" designation
3) contain a "euphoria or pleasure inducing" ingredient, normally alcohol although sweeteners would be acceptable

Safety, production and distribution standards:- the drink must not cause permanent harm or injury
- production facilities must not contravene a nations labor standards
- exported versions of a national SPIT must be of the same quality served in a host nation
- versions of SPIT containing addictive components must include a warning

Needless to say, I oppose over-defining the regional drink.   Leave it as SPIT and allow nations the freedom to define their national variants.  A Culture Act should not limit the cultural expression of the member nations.

The business model of the Aumeltopian SPIT Company Ltd. is based on producing numerous novelty flavours of 'SPIT'. While these may not count as the traditional regional drink -- and we still do produce the traditional type -- we believe they are equally legitimate variants. A law should not unnecessarily restrict the innate creativity of South Pacificans.

I have updated the draft by removing controversial provisions and making the SPIT recipe nonexclusive to what is listed.

I voted against this for one reason only in that it just to me seems overly superfluous and unnecessary. We can have a culture within a region without the need to define it by legislative means, I'd encourage people to reject this legislation.
