"What is your views of Sedunn and Transsuneria respectively?"

SLP/Greens/KPHA/AVP/FPG: We view Sedunn as our strongest ally on Bailtem and appreciate their efforts to defend democracy and liberal societies around the world. As for Transsuneria, we have positive views about them. After the deceased Chancellor Kirchmann has visited Nieulandsheim to commence trade talks with President Palmann, we were once again reassured, that we want to invest into the country and also play a role in helping them standing on their own feet. Sadly the progress in the negotiation process came to a stand-still due to the Reizen Civil War extending to the Karelins. We hope to pick up talks again, when we have found a new government coalition.

LGI: In general, we view both countries positively as both tend to mutually cooperate with their partners, however Sedunn's foreign policy still cannot go fully uncriticised. It seems like they play a two-faced game at times, going to war regularly on the one hand to allegedly defend the spirit of democracy as a kind of world police, while on the other founding an organisation like the World Forum to manifest diplomacy as the main mean to solve global conflicts. On the one hand cooperating with the world by suggesting a security alliance between the strongest nations of Cordilia and Bailtem, on the other not ratifying the TPNW, which actually would make the world a safer place. Albeit all that, we think that overall the Sedunners are mostly trustworthy partners.
As for Transsuneria we agree with other parties, that we need to show solidarity to the country we have occupied partially once. It's our responsibility, that the country can get up on its feet as soon as possible.

"How do you think GI-Land handles its Great War legacy?"/"What view do you have on your past and how do they affect your politics?"

SLP/KPHA/FPG: We think, GI-Land handles its past pretty well. Former enemies and nations we made to puppet states during the Great War have mostly forgiven us and we are now looking at a map of North Cordilia with a vast number of stable and wealthy nations, which partner up for common goals. We all can be proud of that, however it has to be clear to everyone, that this development is not self-evident. Lots of constant education about those dark times and strict laws forbidding hate against other people groups as well as the Frankian ideology were needed to instill the sense of responsibility of the nation's actions into our people, which lessens the national pride overall, but at the same time, we could also state: "We are proud of not being proud".

Greens/LGI: While in general the Gianlucian public is aware of its historic responsibility due to the Great War, its century-long imperialism and the genocide committed in Besern by the Frankian Dictatorship, we need to put more effort into keeping the mentality alive. The rise of right-wing forces like the AVP, who also use anti-Gianlucian or anti-Bruuman sentiments, who in general try to sow hate in the populace by wanting to give the people a scapegoat for all their problems, is worrying us immensely. Currently we do not do enough against this potential and actual violence induced by mere words of hate, that could sooner or later undermine all the progress we made with dealing with our legacy from darker times.

AVP: It depends on which part of GI-Land you are talking about. While the Atlantics had mostly forgiven the Gianlucians for their heinous acts against their lands during the dictatorship and have also undergone a defrankinisation process, we had to see, back in 2011, that the Gianlucians, while trying to convey, they are different people now, are still imperialists deep in their heart. If the next Gianlucian government does not make way for a referendum on the secession of Atlantis from GI-Land again, then you'll know, GI-Land does not handle its Great War legacy well.

"If new significant reserves of rare rare-earth elements were found in GI-Land, would you be prepared to mine those to boost production of e.g. batteries?"

SLP/KPHA: Provided GI-Land discovers new resources in its territory, we will mine those resources if needed and legally possible.

Greens: Mining rare earth elements is currently still tied to a huge environmental impact in regards of pollution. At the same time, we need to modernise the Gianlucian economy and the production of batteries might be one of the biggest future markets, GI-Land could and should play a role in. If needed, we would not outrule to mine the materials, however the mining process would need to become climate neutral as quickly as possible. Furthermore we need to research on how to mine resources without needing to displace too many people and disrupt too large parts of our infrastructure.

LGI: Climate neutral mining of rare earth elements is currently not possible. Furthermore the social disruption of displacing people, robbing their home from them, just to increase the dividends of a few shareholders, that's something we don't see as proportionate action. Instead of focusing on battery production and electrifying our current, still too car-centered mobility, we should expand the public transport network even more and make it possible to live as good in every village as in the city. The need for a car would drastically decrease and thus the need to produce batteries, which would need those rare earth elements. That's why we expect to not get into the assumed situation.

AVP/FPG: Yes.

"What would be your foreign policy toward Bruuma?"

LGI: We commend the effort of the current government to have somewhat close and friendly relations to the Voodoo's Republic, but clearly say at the same time: There's room for more! Students from both countries should experience each other's culture. We should piggy-back each other's tourism sector. We need to cooperate on fully demining the sea borders between Erinor & Sereva, Bruuma and GI-Land. We need a full and detailed friendship and common defense treaty as quickly as possible. This would show to the world, that North-West Cordilia will stay stable in the future, but also - from a geo-strategic perspective - that Bruuma is willing to get talked to and to cooperate, which in turn could ease up other allied states of our federal republic to the idea of letting Bruuma join the World Forum, a step we think the Unclepears should have taken already. Those are ambitious plans for the next four years, we know that, but we think that those are the right plans for a brighter, more peaceful future in our region.

"Would you end Gianlucian military cooperation with other capitalistic nations?"

LGI: While there are talks about defensive pacts between GI-Land and several other nations, GI-Land currently does not have a direct military cooperation or mission with another state. The only exception would be, that GI-Land is currently willing to send peacekeeping troops, shall the World Forum decide on a peacekeeping mission. We do not see the World Forum as a pact between capitalist nations though, but take their mission at face value and see it as a ground for every nation of any ideology to come together and discuss the ways forward for Pacifica.
Either way the LGI does not want to deploy the Bundesarmee except for cases, where GI-Land's territory is directly attacked. Thus any defensive pact with any nation, that would include passages, where the Bundesarmee should be used to attack other nations, will not be accepted. Same goes for any cooperation asking us to increase our military budget as we think, the world shall disarm and not start another arms race, which would and will ultimately lead to a high number of casualties at some point in the future.

"What are your introduced policies and manifestoes for the people of GI-Land?"

All parties: Our manifesto and how we voted in the Königspalast can be viewed online on the official website of each of the parties.
(OOC: I'm sorry, it might be I don't understand your question fully. As for introduced policies, I could collect all introduced and failed policies from the last legislature for sure, but I won't write full manifestoes now ^^ The general info on page 1 as well as the picture you have gotten of each party through the answers I've given already needs to suffice to imagine what a party stands for and what they don't support.)

"What are your views on enhancing ties with for say, Besern?"

SLP/KPHA: We would like to enhance our ties with Besern, however we'd prefer a bilateral approach. Besern's foundation of the NCU as a reaction to the failed Bailtem Union was, from our perspective, currently not the right way to do that.

Greens/LGI/AVP: We are positive, Gianlucian-Besernian relations will become stronger in the near future. Our similar cultures as well as the Gianlucian responsibility towards Besern both call for strong and deep ties between our nations.

FPG: Besern is one of the key nations in a Cordilian Union we envision. Not only because of its size and economic output, but also because of its regional and soft power it has enhanced by founding the North Cordilian Union and now hosting the Youth Olympiad in Zersbach.

"If elected, what investments would you advise for GI-Land to take part in?"

SLP: In our last legislature we have already decided on several pieces of legislation pushing our agenda on climate action forward, however it is obvious, that the project to become climate-neutral will need even more investments going into the millions and even billions, especially if we include the costs for foreign aid, which shall also be used to set other countries onto a greener path also.

Greens: It goes without saying, that we would like to invest into the green transformation of our industries and the improvement of living conditions in the entirety of GI-Land. This includes a program for higher wages for essential jobs, increasing our minimum wage and putting money e.g. into bike infrastructure in urban centers, so that all of our cities become less car-centered.

KPHA: Our focus on investments shall lay in the fields of enhancing domestic security more. In other words: We need more video surveillance at public spaces and also more staff at the police stations, especially staff versed in investigations of digital crimes. Further investments shall go into our education sector, which needs constant updates and upgrades, that they don't seem to get everywhere in GI-Land. This is something we want to fix.

LGI: By taxing the super rich more and divesting our military expenses, we will have enough money to finally introduce a universal basic income, that suffices to not let anyone live in poverty anymore and makes it possible for everyone to really live their own individual lifestyle and become successful with it. The UBI would also be a security for every worker in the industry, who might lose their job in the near future due to the continuing digitalisation and the job losses, that will eventually occur naturally through our transformation to a greener industry.

AVP: GI-Land is not safe and secure enough. We want video surveillance in all public spaces, a more effective and well-staffed police force, well-trained and -equipped border guards and also an army, that can defend us, our allies and our interests in Pacifica. For that we will need several million Tacks, but those are necessary to make GI-Land an overall better place to live in and to continue prospering on the international stage in the future also.

FPG: There are two main topics, GI-Land has to invest into: Education and digitalisation. We need to make schools accessible for children regardless of their family's income or personal situation and those schools need to be the best and most modern schools in the world. Currently we cannot guarantee to have the best education even just here in Cordilia alone and that definitely needs to change. As for digitalisation: We want a digital state. Every citizen shall be able to communicate with the administrations, submit any claims or found a company fully in the digital space from anywhere, at best just with a very simple app. For that, we need to develop such a "GianlucApp" and finally get our internet network up to 5G-standards. Those are the things, we'd want to hugely invest into in the next four years.

"How had you react to the crushing defeat of GI-Land to Holy Free in the IUFA FWC, and how could the government make sure it takes home the cup in Snolland?"

All parties: That's sports. We will try our best to bring the cup "back home" in 2022, but we are proud of our boys either way. Same applies for the women's national team at the WFWC also of course.

"GI-Land has been hosting a lot of international events in the last two to three years, among them are the IUFA FWC, the Pacivision Song Contest, and many more. Do you agree with the current government's decisions to spend so much on big events which may not even result in a profit?"

SLP/Greens: We do think, that the investments were justified. First of all the FWC e.g. helped modernising our stadiums and some of the local infrastructure to accomodate the influx of many more people than normal travelling. The PSC on the other hand was part of the yearly Southern Gate Festival (and it will be in the future too), which will be supported from us either way, because we want to support our cultural, media and entertainment industries, which are the biggest industries of GI-Land economically speaking. Furthermore it helped building up brand new connections to the other countries of Pacifica through cultural exchanges.
All in all: Yes, we still agree with the decisions we've taken.

KPHA/FPG: We haven't disagreed with the sponsoring and hosting of neither the FWC nor the Pacivision Song Contest, but this is also due to the fact, that we are kind of forced to host the next edition, when we have won the respective competition. Now we could ask our athletes and singers to stop being successful, but I don't think, that this would be any fair, motivating or good. Maybe one could discuss at the Pacivision Executive Board and/or the IUFA on whether we should change to an application based process for giving the hosting rights to a nation. We could also ask wealthier nations to spend more money for funding such international competitions, but at the moment this is not a topic worrying us too much.

LGI/AVP: While we appreciate the positive effects the competitions had on the creative industry, our "football spirit" and even on our infrastructure, we need to say, that we cannot host such events as regularly in the next few years as we have done it in the last few years, especially not when needing most of the money in other sectors. Maybe the hosting rules for those tournaments can be changed by the respective organisations.

"What is your foreign policy toward Hystaiga and Valkyria respectively?"/"What is your position on the Kalkara War?"

SLP: We are still shocked about the situation, that has developed between Hystaiga and Valkyria since the Conservative takeover of the Valkyrian government. We would have never thought, that a strong and democratic partner like Valkyria would eventually lose quite a good amount of our trust through their actions. We hope this trust can be restored by ending the war and reassuring to our region and the World Forum that further destabilisations and wars will not happen. In exchange we'd lift our sanctions of Valkyria. As for Hystaiga, we'll continue our humanitarian aid for as long as it's needed, but we do not plan to send the Bundesarmee to the country.

Greens: Our foreign policy will focus around the support of the people fighting for an end to the Kalkara War. Funding, humanitarian aid and, if needed and called for, assistant forces from the Bundesarmee will be sent to Hystaiga and Valkyria respectively, if we'll lead the next government.

KPHA/FPG: Valkyria is a strong partner for GI-Land, which has gotten on a wrong path by going to war with Hystaiga. What counts in the next four years is ending the so-called Kalkara War followed by huge investments into the people and economy of Hystaiga and Valkyria. The International Court should also look into the people, who were responsible for starting the war in the first place, so that they receive their fair judgement.

LGI: Hystaiga is the victim of an unjust and uncalled for war, started by an assumed partner of GI-Land. Obviously we have been deceived, so the sanctions against Valkyria were right and just. Our efforts in the next four years should be focused on directly supporting anti-war groups in both countries, Valkyria and Hystaiga, and limiting our diplomatic ties to countries, companies and people owning up to their responsibility in the current situation.

AVP: Obviously it is an unfortunate situation with the war between Hystaiga and Valkyria, but let's not forget there is a reason why Mrs. Chancellor and her government went offensively into the conflict. GI-Land should keep out of it and also overthink the number of sanctions imposed on our alleged partner. However, seeing the amount of people becoming tired of the war, we should also try to get Hystaiga and Valkyria both at a table and offer a neutral ground on which the conflict may be finally solved diplomatically.

"What is your position on the current Valkyrian government restricting the rights of non-Valrissi believers?"

SLP/Greens/KPHA/LGI/FPG: We think, it is unacceptable and backwards for a modern government to not respect the freedom of religion or for a nation to not separate religion and state sufficiently. That's why we call for the Valkyrian government - or for the Valkyrian people in a referendum - to vote against any more restrictions for non-Valrissi believers and the abolishment of introduced restrictions against them.

AVP: We believe in the separation of religion and state, but at the same time the Valrissi faith does have importance to the Valkyrian people and belongs to their national identity and culture. In a world, that grows together and where culture is seemingly lost more and more, it is natural and commendable there are politicians out there, who want to stop the identity loss of their country. If Mrs. Chancellor's government sees it as necessary to promote the Valrissi believes, then we view their legislations as part of internal affairs, GI-Land should not intervene into.

"What is your current policy goal with Northern Cordillan countries in the future?"

SLP/Greens/KPHA: We try to create and/or maintain friendly relations to all North Cordilian countries in order to keep the region stable and prosperous.

LGI: Our goal for Northern Cordilia is for it to be a region of partners committing to peace. For that we'd like to try to advertise the ratification of the TPNW by all nations and a major disarmament of all armies in the region.

AVP: Our North Cordilian neighbours should be our closest friends and allies, however at the moment they cannot depend on us in times of crisis, because our army is too weak, our foreign policies divert massively sometimess and GI-Land is redirecting calls for help to the World Forum too often since its foundation in 2017. GI-Land will take a stronger stance in foreign politics with us involved in the government and that will result in GI-Land becoming a partner our allies may depend on more compared to now.

FPG: As we have mentioned in several interviews before, we aim for a Cordilian Union, which of course should include several North Cordilian countries too. In a first step, countries like Frost, Snolland and Besern should be founding the union with us before we accept several more member states into the alliance. The CU would work mainly as a single market furthering the prosperity of all countries, but would also defend our national and international security interests.

"How willing are you to negotiate free-trade agreements with the F.S.N.A?"

SLP/Greens: We are generally open for talks on a free-trade agreement. This is dependent on how good the ties between GI-Land and the FSNA will develop though and whether the FSNA will commit to certain climate action and the defense of human rights.

KPHA/FPG/AVP: Provided the FSNA would be offering talks on a free-trade agreement, we would gladly accept the agreement we would find. Otherwise we will hopefully deepen our diplomatic relations in the next four years setting a basis for negotiating a free-trade agreement medium-term.

LGI: Free-trade agreements are not the solution to pressing global problems like climate change, rising inequality in wealth and international safety. Also they often disadvantage one of the markets against the other. We will strengthen the ties to the FSNA and we will be ready to negotiate an agreement between our countries, but whether it will be a free-trade agreement or more of a cooperation treaty, cannot be foreseen right now.

"How do you feel about foreign investment into the broader national economy?"

SLP/KPHA/FPG: We do see the advantages foreign investments can have for the national economy of GI-Land, however it is clear, that critical infrastructure shall always stay in the hands of the Gianlucian people and thus be exempt of foreign investments and thus potential dependencies.

Greens/AVP: While we are not categorically against foreign investments into our national economy, they should be limited to a certain amount of GI-Land's GDP per year and shall not be made into critical parts of the Gianlucian economy potentially endangering our security and sovereignity.

LGI: The current and future state-owned economy should be free of any foreign investors meddling with it as this will lead to dependencies in the long-term, not only potentially attacking the fundaments of Gianlucian economy and society, but also enriching global corporations, which already have enough uncontrolled power in this world. Let's not enable them to get even more of it.

What are your foreign policy views on the Frost Empire, a hypothetically independent Reizen state, and the Termina Commerce Confederacy Respectively?

Will your respective party reconsider relations or change the state policies around the aforementioned states?

Will you recognize an independent Reizen state?

If so, will you stop the Frost Empire from invading Reizen, if Democratic elections result in the Return of the Reizen Independence Movement?
