So I guess its just coincidence that as soon as the chance appeared Milograd just happened to submit his application for a hearing?

What on earth are you talking about? Obviously Milograd found out about the parole debate and waited until the law passed before submitting an applicstion. Is it that hard to see?

Dig below the surface Kris

Why was the amendment made in the first place? What was the motivation behind pushing for the change?
Think of it as somebody a murder mystery- who stood to inherit the fortune if the Earl was bumped off?

It hasn't exactly been some secret. Milo was the only person Parole would apply to initially and most if TSP knew it. And TSP hasn't exactly been attacking him on sight for the past few months either.

It all started on irc before it was posted on the forum. Milograd was in the channel, which eventually led to people asking why he couped TSP in the first place and if he would coup again. It was then that Unibot came up with the proposal to ban indefinite sentencing. So yeah, Milograd already new he might have had a chance to return.

So in summary, Unibot, who is on speaking terms as a minimum with Milograd, if not friends, proposes a parole law which if passed guarantees Milograd can return.

The people then vote on the law, which narrowly passes. Of those voting for it, ONE person was in the region when Milograd was (I think Awe was around, it may even be zero). Most of the people who vote no, WERE in the region. Worth notin this parole law can ONLY be used for Milograd, and the people who do vote for it, weren't here when he was.

Because the parole law passes, Milograd immediately applies, as the law is written so that parole is guaranteed. The law is written so the Chair is one of the three deciding, despite this making little sense (the Chair should be neutral, and in this occassion, I believe may have had a conflict of interest). Because it has been guaranteed to not fail, Milograd is allowed to return. With no thought given at all if this is either what the people of the region want, no consideration as to the scope of his treason, or if he will even be welcome here. Just because the Chair (and probably a few other people on IRC) are friends with him and allowed it to happen.

Yes, I know I didn't vote or discuss this when it was up for discussion/voting. If I had of known it was, I would have been against it then too - my fault for not checking.

Good to see Unibot will get elected as Chair again though. Expect more of this sort of stuff to happen in the next 4 months. Passing laws, or attempting to, for personal gain, rather than what people want.

My take on it. Forgive me if this is not correct Unibot, just what I see from this situation based on what has happened.

For the record, Aram, both Kris and I were citizens when Milo couped.

I find it offensive when people imply that the opinion of newer citizens on security is somehow less valuable than that of older citizens. I was there when Milograd couped, and my opinion is as valuable as that of TAC. He has access to enough historical information to make informed decisions.
