OPINION: A Dangerous Proposal
#31

Trying to use real-life historical events to judge what will happen in TSP is a bit useless, even if it could be a mildly useful metaphor.

Either way, Raven, opening up the legislative process to people who do not go through security checks, who cannot be readily tracked for security concerns, who are not even legally bound by the Charter, and can come and go from the region as they please, does make us massively more vulnerable. We can't ignore that.

We are "safe" now only in this sense that it's unlikely for an external invasion to happen and unseat Tsu. There are very few ways we would be "safe" from quite literal infiltration on the game-side, without adopting increasingly stringent requirements that defeat the purpose of a game-side legislature. Even under WA-Native requirements, which are the most stringent Tsu has proposed, it's not difficult to have a puppet that meets the Native requirement. All you'd have to do is switch WAs to be able to vote. If I was an enemy, or even just somebody wanting to influence our policy in a way that can't really be noticed, I would definitely do that.

GR, I really don't care about how the legislature is made up. I don't care about legislative processes or composition. I am content to let people who are far more heavily involved in it argue over it.

I simply think we have a far more serious threat already inside TSP.

Not until we protect TSP from the foreign interloper, and the people with multiple government roles - because they are treacherous and deceitful individuals who will steal your children and eat your pets. Or is that steal your pets and eat your children? /shrugs

Use this great council to push for a ban on dual citizenship: protect TSP from itself. Push for a ban on holding foreign offices. Ban tax-evasion and remember: they're all out to get you.

Basically, Raven is saying that paranoia is TSP's more serious threat.

Why the f*** would you bother with high influence WA Nations when you can sign up on the forum and get accepted easily? -_-

People who want to exploit TSP can already exploit TSP. It's work decently, since these people (like Belschaft and Todd) eventually get caught.

I am the biggest threat to your democracy. And Unibot. And Kris. Those of us who hold positions in other regions are coming for your children. We're hungry, bring mayo.

If you're coming, shouldn't YOU bring the mayo? Tounge
