CASTIETYA, SPORALTRYUS; President Jasper Henn has declared a state of emergency in a statement issued by the government over allegations of police brutality and high corruption within the Justice Commission. The allegations came after a news report by local news agency reported high numbers of beatings by the police. An investigation by the so called "President's Police" revealed the corruption within the Justice Commission and other, more minor problems.

In the statement, President Henn said, "Corruption is a very serious threat to the security of our nation. The fact that it is numerous and evident in such a serious institution as our Justice Commission represents a large threat to us all. I will be conducting an investigation into the Commission myself in order to make certain the state of the Commission."

It has not been announced when the investigation would begin.

ESTANA, AQUICA; After a report of the Scalten Rebellion and the deployment of the 4th Defense Fleet and Army, President Jasper Henn has offered the capital of Aquica, Estana, to be used as a place for negotiations and a conference. This decision came after a request by the Scalten Government for a conference location in a safe location, given the instability of the nation.

The conference itself will deal with matters of the rebellion and of possible peace talks, though this is unconfirmed. Senator Governor Chris Flores will represent Sporaltryus and Aquica, in addition to the 4th Defense Fleet Admiral Vanya Ivanov. Among the other nations attending the conference is Scalten, Darkstrait, the Resentine Kingdom, and Qvait. The conference is set to start at 1600 UST -2:00.

OLIUS, SPORALTRYUS;
An explosion occurred in a mine yesterday, killing 18 miners and injuring 6 more. The other miners not caught in the blast were trapped by falling rubble and rock, and are currently the subject of an excavation effort to save them.

The mine in question is Casejo Mine, established in 1896 by Holmes Manufacturing and Mining. Rated as "Unsafe" and "Unfit for full crew complement", it continued to work even with the revolution of 1900, and the subsequent change in power of the government from the conservative capitalists to the current democratic communist government. No previous explosions have been reported at the mine since record keeping began in 1899.

No details about the explosion have been released.

CASTIETYA, SPORALTRYUS; A nuclear weapon was stolen yesterday by Army sympathizers and unknown assailants. Thus far, no group has claimed responsibility for the heist, which occurred during a period of down time for the shipyard where it was being held. The Government has released a statement regarding all details it claims as "necessary":

GOVERNMENT STATEMENT REGARDING THE NUCLEAR HEIST

At approximately 17:46, UST -1:00, the nuclear device that was being loaded onto the nuclear launch ship, "Sarajevo", was stolen out of the storage compartment where it had been located previously. The device itself was not loaded onto the ship due to a worker strike demanding information on the reasoning for the loading order, and as of yet, a reason has not and will not be provided in this statement. The device itself is a 50m1 payload, meaning that unless the device was used on a small town or a village, the total destruction of the target would not occur. That is not to say it can't do damage, as it can still bring down a skyline should several factors be in the "right places", so to speak.

We have enacted a state of emergency over this, with border checkpoints between all districts checking all passing vehicles, with all inbound and outbound flights also undergoing a rigorous search process. The Legislative has been scattered around the country to their respective district offices in order to prevent the loss of a major section of the Legislative. The Judicial has also been scattered, in a random fashion.

We would like to reassure the Sporaltryan and Aquican people that we will find this device, the group that conducted the Heist, and bring them to the justice they deserve. If you have any information to report, please contact your local police station, at http://police.sporaltryus.spt/contact.

Thank you for your time,

The Sporaltryan and Aquican Government

We will update this Issue with more info as this story progresses.

Terrorist Attack near Erantor

ERANTOR, SPORALTRYUS —At approximately 04:56 today, tanks, infantry, and aircraft under the control of terrorists began a series of assaults and attacks upon the town of Pandora, near Erantor. The attacks appear to have been focused on capturing the small town of 800, most likely due to the town's proximity to a lightly guarded military base and nuclear power plant. Around 27 are confirmed to have been killed, with 63 seriously wounded and over 100 lightly injured. The Sporaltryan Military was quick to respond, with a response force of 12 tanks, 210 light infantry troops, and 5 helicopters. Before the response was deployed, a radio signal broadcasting on Sporaltryan military and civilian frequencies had been praising the attack as, "a return to the true state" and, "the greatest leaders of all time" were leading the attack.

The battle started when small aircraft flown by terrorist forces sprayed a form of a chemical weapon over the town in order to put the townsfolk to a deep sleep. A member of the town had reported it to the local police, however, and the town because evacuation protocols. 341 citizens had been evacuated when tanks because to fire upon the town with other aircraft beginning bombing runs on the police station and military outpost. 6 citizens were killed in the initial assault. A second assault consisting of helicopter strafing and infantry deployment occurred a few minutes later, with the rest of the casualties being the result of strafing cars attempting to evacuate. At this time, over half of the town was under terrorist control, with the tanks pushing forward. The Sporaltryan military chose this time to intervene, and a brutal exchange of fire occurred. The fight continues, with numerous reinforcements on both sides having joined the battle. It is unknown how the terrorists were able to get this much hardware undetected.

Sedunn Intervenes

SAINT VINCENT, SPORALTRYUS —While the Resentine-led invasion to the west intesifies, the Sporaltryan Post has recieved information that Sedunn is transfering large forces across the South Pacific Ocean. A high-ranking source within the former Sporaltryan Navy reveals to the Post that Sedunnic attack submarines have been spotted crossing the Sporaltryan border south of Saint Vincent and that a large proportion of the so called "surface navy" has left its bases.

This of course implies a Sedunnic intervention. Experts agree that the recent enormous military exercises, involving 80,000 troups at most, carried out by the Sedunnic Armed Forces all were a preparation for an invasion of Sporaltryus.

"They would naturally not try this alone, but the current state of our nation and the invasion by Resentine gave them the chance", an expert says. "They will attack us from behind, where we are defenceless."

The Post contacted leaders of the local United Front faction command for a comment.

"We will not let them ashore! We are reinforcing our positions to the north-east. I say this to all Sporaltryan soldiers: If we fall, what's left of our great nation will be lost for ever. Join the fight!".

Will the Sedunnic intervention actually be counter-productive to its cause? If the faction leaders, like the UF commander suggests, manage to unite against the new threat, Sporaltryus may yet again be strong and free itself from foreign occupation.

Desperate Supply Shortage

CASTIETYA, SPORALTRYUS —"We only have food for another week, and that's it!" The Post has met with a police officer from "the outskirts of Castietya", who wishes to remain anonymous. He shows us handwritten documents with lists of supplies. "We are getting desperately short of fuel. We will have to walk if nothing is done."

Much of the fuel reserves has been given to the local military.
"Yes, they regularly come to us and ask us to collect fuel from around the city. They will have to leave without a single drop next time. But worst of all is the food crisis. Me and my colleagues beg the [faction] leaders to come together and end hostilities, or at least negotiate with Resentine and its allies to give us food in exchange of our nuclear arsenal."
