In Kyrini, having records of your ancestors is an essential factor in Kyrinian culture. For generations, people have kept records of their ancestors, in order to remember them and respect them. Every family has two or more family historians, who are very respected in the family. Some can accurately trace their lineage to 500 years ago, and a few can accurately trace their lineage to 1000 years ago. The average accurate tracing of lineage for any family goes to 150 years ago. It is said that the current President, Mikalos Vapolagos, can trace his lineage way back to a legendary king of a city-state of the then Cathalean region, which in battle defended his country against the Ryccian invaders in the 1700's and was a key factor for the slowing of Ryccia's eventual conquest of the now Kyrini.
Even now in this modern age even rebellious teenagers respect this tradition. There is even a festival in Kyrini dedicated to honoring them, Prosogour Imia, or Ancestor Day.

Anyway, before the Sibling King Stephen Pendragon was in charge as monarch, his predecessor was his older brother,

If the King Ferdinand the Elder was so organized and left brained, why on earth he got a courtesan as his Queen? That's right, at that time, the King got a Pornstar to become his queen. Elinora from an early age followed her sister Renatta's example and worked in a Hammerstarian brothel serving low-status customers; later she performed on stage. It was noted that there seems to be little reason to believe she worked out of a brothel managed by a pimp. Employment as an actress at the time would include both "indecent exhibitions on stage" and providing sexual services off stage. Elinora earned her living by a combination of her theatrical and sexual skills. She was saught after by many clients, and grew quite famous. She produced a couple of high-end films as well as have a large range of rich clienteles. Her work did not give her pleasure and satisfaction of the soul though, she had become disgusted of what people had done to her and to her co-workers, regardless of gender, but realized that she could not escape. She was spotted by him, and the King demanded her identity. She refused, and the King drew his sword from its sheathe. Of course, being Hammerstarian, she responded mutually, she took her short batons and immediately disarmed the King of his sword, pushing it up from his hands and ran away from the premise. The King had thought of getting the royal guards after her, but then he spotted a calling card dropped by her. The next morning "Brother?" asked Ferdinand "Yes?" "Something strange happened last night, while I was doing my calculations an unknown intruder got near me. She didn't seem like a spy, but when I tried to acquire her identity, she refused and challenged me." "Mhm, you drew your sword first right brother?" "She drew her baton and disarmed me.. Luckily I found this card, and was wondering, what if we took her in ourselves?" "A card you say? Let me see." Requested Stephen. Ferdinand gave the card to Stephen, after glancing it, Stephen banged the breakfast table in laughter. "Oh brother, I have no Idea you are into those things.." "What?" "This is a brothel card, a calling card for a prostitute. Admit it." "I have told you many times brother, the only thing I need to sate my passion and lust is knowledge." "Yes, yes, yes, 'Intellectually Asexual'. But this is a brothel card, they do not really drop it, they give it to someone." "I'm sure you know much about it?" "Well... I can't say that I haven't been a fan of these activities. Unlike you however, one can definitely say that you are a fan of it." "That's it brother, I'll prove it to you that I did not have intercourse with that vile woman. We shall go there to--" "Ah, reconnection again?" "NO! TO CONFRONT HER!" "Exa! We'll confront her at night." So, at night, the two royal brothers with masks (Custom of the establishment) went to the brothel to look for the courtesan. Stephen decided that the girl may be near the bar, which, after looking around, decided to savvy some scotch instead, Ferdinand however, decided to look around and ask the maids of the brothel to see if such individual existed in the establishment, they all said no, and when he was wandering around, a woman with lace pulled him into a door. "I believe you were looking for me." Before Ferdinand popped the question to her, the masked courtesan started to perform the procedure. Ferdinand felt an uneasy yet memorable experience, he had not felt something like this before. After the courtesan was done, she exited early, leaving Ferdinand bewildered of his experience. Being the mathematical man however, he came to realize that it was a cheap trick made by the courtesan, and whatever he thought was in was not actually in. As Ferdinand pulled his drunken brother away from the bar, he started to wonder about that courtesan, and with that card, he called her to a hotel that night, asking her for her service. When the courtesan came with a dress, Ferdinand had awkwardly waited for her, even consulting with his brother on how should he act infront of a callgirl. An awkward night had enveloped Ferdinand that day, he thought that he could act as confident as his brother, but the courtesan, who did not recognized her king, had told him to calm down, and a night of sexual activities occur. It was at breakfast that the King came clean with who he truly is and explained to the courtesan the story of their encounter. Of course, Elinor was surprised and thought that she should run, however, Ferdinand continued to confess of his night with her and offered to make her his secret partner, provided that she does not become anyone else's. Elinor had thought about the many offers she had, but never from royalty, therefore, she decided to give it a go just for a while. Rendezvouses occur almost every night, with her sometimes boarding a plane to be with her king on his trips abroad. As encounters grew, so did their feelings towards each other. It was after Stephen knew who was hiding behind Ferdinand's closet that Ferdinand decided to make his announcement official. Soon after, Elinor became the new Queen of Hammerstar, despite many who opposed her due to her past, she brought her friends and family out from poverty and into a lifestyle where the courtesanship is no more. Queen Elinor became one of the most active in social justice and started many movements to empower the people, particularly the -Ette Movement, which stood beside women's rights that fought in such fair manner. Despite such a weird encounter, King Ferdinand and Queen Elinor became the closest of couples, and quite favored by the people of Hammerstar.

There is a town in Central Kyrini, nestled in the mountains, that has the lowest murder rate in Kyrini, if not, the world, with 0 murders per year since it's foundation in 1183, and also the lowest crime rate overall, with 0.0012004802 crimes per year (the only crime committed was a theft by a man from a neighboring town in 1849). Minagalos, a tiny mining town of 3,364, has been awarded the Order of the Olive Branch 17 times because of this, and the Imperial Cross of Honour 23 times while Kyrini was part of the Ryccian Empire.
