Urban areas


The two maps below show urban areas in Bailtem-Sedunn and the so-called Green-Vastraenn (ice free area of the Vastraenn Province).

Administrative divisions


Sedunn is divided into:
  • Six authority coordination regions (Sedunnic: stoveaffulsaflē (SES)). Various authorities such as those for military and civilian defence or energy use these to coordinate and delegate planning and daily work.
  • Twelve provinces (Sedunnic: dolē). The provinces are self-governing local authorities are responsible for providing advanced public health care, public transportation and regional development.
  • 297 municipalities (Sedunnic: tavvasa'lē). The municipalities have local self-governing authority and are the main welfare providers. They also provide emergency services, public social services, sanitation and urban and rural planning.
  • 2541 districts (Sedunnic: ovutlē). The purpose of the districts is population registration, including civil registration of births, marriages, civil partnerships and deaths, and for the collation of census information.
Furthermore, there are eleven historical counties (Sedunnic: haenlē) that still are important in culture. The counties are still recognised officially, but since the Administrative reform of 2014 all real duties were assumed by the new provinces which were designed to have a more equal population distribution.

The administrative divisions of Mainland Sedunn (or officially, Bailtem-Sedunn) are shown below. The overseas territory of Vastraenn is both a single province and a single municipality.

Population statistics


Sedunn had a total population of 15,773,548 in the 2019 census. 76,048 lived in Vastraenn. The two maps below show municipality and province population in Bailtem-Sedunn.

The largest city in Vastraenn is Sraved with about 55,236 inhabitants. Over 99.9% of the province's population lives in the ice-free areas, called Rass-Vastraenn - Green Vastraenn, and approximately 82% of the province's population live in urban areas.
