Philosophical Question: What would you change about the world?
#11

How the world works. Thats what i would change about it. Changing it into a more of a great place to live. Where life is near easy and no such burdening issue such as tax, debt etc... BUt just afew to keep life interesting. Criminals are accountable for the wrongdoing: properly tried and punished accordingly. Things that make the world fairer for innocence and greater for law abiders.

Every time I consider this I come up with a different answer, so here's the one for today.

I would lower human intelligence. We do not have the mental architecture to manage our modifications to the environment (internal and external), and need to be restrained from damaging the ecosystem we depend on as well as the biosphere at large.
We are trapped by the narrowness of our ideological creations, enslaved by the knotting of the shortest threads of our behavioural tapestry and ill equipped to reach beyond our own basic drives as a species (regardless of how impressed we may be with ourselves). We judge, forgive, condemn, attack and defend without really understanding why we do these things, and thus paint them with the colours that best please our eye.

What would I change about the World Today?

I would wish to take us back to our Protohistory, a time before the written word. I would wish for a gentler society, one that is based more on a partnership existence with each other rather than what we are indoctrinated to believe: that women are evil/the first sinner/weaker than men. I would rather teach future generations that wo/men are one and the same, we are human.

Basically, I would rather take our religion back to a Natural base as compared to what we view as normal today.

I would follow that with changing it so they actually cared, because it's not them being affected after all....selfish wankers.

Mine is more the regression of thinking. I love some of the technology we have today and I would not want to loose it. I just think that we need/crave a gentler way of thinking that society used to have. Women and men in our protohistory had a way different view of things, if we could go back to that way of thinking then a lot of the issues we have now would not be issues. At least that is how I feel about it.
